This is an interesting auction. This person is selling a steamboat she got from Jim Hillestadt plus 40 apparently Trophy figures.

Very nice indeed!!

I tell you, something about boats.....

I saw a picture of Kobe Bryant's one time house with the Pirate ship Pool, now that's for me!

Tom

It's been several years since I last saw a ship with Trophy figures on eBay...I remember what it went for when the economy was better...This one should be interesting...

great looking set up that would be a fantastic centre piece of any collection ,their is a couple of figures their that look like imperial productions in their also.

I don't understand? is that the original Nile Boat steamer by Trophy or is the boat made by somebody else and the figures by Trophy. It is a great set nevertheless.
Regards
Damian

Damian,

It's not clear whether it's Trophy or not. I would also worry about a piece like this being shipped as she's not a toy soldier person.

I am pretty sure that it is not Trophy, as all their ships were side wheelers...I think that Louis owns some, so he might be able to show a pic ,or Brad find them, from one of the old threads...Michael

I'll see if I can find a photo and give a link if I do.

I am nearly 100 % sure that this ship is correct and original to the figures. It is a rare bird and a spectacular set.

Gentleman,
I am curious to see what this goes for. My understanding has always been that Les T. of Trophy and Jim H were very close, so I would assume that as Gideon indicated this is a rare bird indeed. I am very tempted to jump in on this as we all know what the Trophy Gunboats sell for (Leopard, etc), there are only so many.

Now, the issues are 1. breakage in shipment as between the boat and case, that is big risk. 2. Just trying to move this think could cause big issues.

I have a feeling though, this one is being eyed by serious collectors and it will go for a very large premium, should be an interesting ride.

PS, It could be quite a number of us going against each other!!!

Tom

Here is a picture of Louis'. Seems like it is a Trophy boat. Sky could be the limit:) The person who is leading has upped their bid seven or eight times so unless you have deep pockets, this could be very expensive.

I think it is the original Trophy boat. It looks like the one sitting in my garage.
It is a wonderful set. Good luck e bayers. I bought mine direct from Len about 3 years ago. I just wish I had got round to ordering the Arab dhow.
Regards
Damian

Meaning it's a Trophy ship?

Yep. I am really sure this is original. The craftmanship is totally right on.

I just took a look in my 1998 catalog but the only ship showing is the Leopard from the civil war series.
