I'm not a Conte Collector and don't have an opinion about him or his company one way or another, except that I know some people really love his stuff, but Joe (and I'm not trying to cause a controversy) it seems that every time anyone looks cross eyed at Mr. Conte or his company, you feel the need to rise to his defense and start threads to deflect from that criticism.

When I used to do that for K & C, people (including yourself, among others) would seem to get all hot and bothered about that and accuse me of being on the K & C payroll. I assume that's not the case here ^&confuse.

your statement here is very interesting. If you read the forum, you will notice that every now and then, quite frequently, there is a lot of bashing going on aiming at various mfrs, i.e. K&C, Britains, Collectors Showcase, First Legion, just to name a few.
So, without having any interest in either his product or in himself, you just thought to have to step up for Mr. Conte here ^&confuse

Funny though, I have noticed that whenever there is an RC thread with a bit of controversy you're right smack in the middle of it.

as far as people disliking Richard...you don't speak for me in your general assessment of forum posters likes and dislikes...

I for one...personally do like Mr. Conte...very much...

I consider him a friend too...as he has always treated me with much respect...

your suggestion to delete a thread because "you think" someone is disliked...is pretty a tacky move...

you shouldn't try and play the role of moderator either by suggesting what you think is an appropriate post or news worthy story on here based on your opinion of a man's popularity...

A bold statement or the truth? He isnt the only manufacturer that gets bashed as others have mentioned. You of course have missed my meaning and written into it.

Strange ? I find it strange you cant seem to understand. Read it again slowly. I said delete the thread cause no one seems to like him. It was not deleted , and then I said I dont care for bashing comments...... Ok got that ?

In any case I am done with it all. Will go to other threads/topics here that are not bashing folks.

As an outside observer, not knowing anything about Richard? Conte, I can say he has certainly been done an injustice. This thread's sole purpose was to warn people of the stolen items, and perhaps invite comments about how much of a shame it is that these things have been happening. Then you, tom13235, come on and start bashing some poor man, who it sounds like has already been attacked numerous times. If you say you were not attacking him, you were certainly knowingly creating an argument where it didn't exist. When good, honorable people stepped in, you insulted them. When thebritfarmer stepped in, you insulted the MODERATOR. I expected those comments to be deleted, but clearly this forum is graciously giving you the benefit of the doubt. This thread represents a sad time in our hobby, both for the illegal trends, and the lack of civility. No offence meant, just a statement form an outsider of the offence that has been taken.
