Just wanted to pass on my thoughts and respects to all those either grieving or wounded or homeless following the terrible storms that have struck the area. Hope you are on the road to recovery soon

Can hardly believe what I am seeing on the news, 250 killed already.

Someone who works in same company as me took shelter in his bathroom with his sons at area near Ft Bragg, NC. Saw the roof of his home half gone when he emerged.

Hangars at Ft Campbell, KY were hit and reported 28 helicopters damaged or destroyed. No reports of casualties. My son is stationed there. He just returned Saturday from Afghanistan and is safe.

Wife and I woke to the wail of the tornado warning sirens.

We're watching videos of the damage. Some torandos reported one mile in width. Unbelievable destruction. I can't remember it as widespread as this. Chirs

Glad you and yours are all safe, Chris. The path and scope of destruction have been terrible. Hard to remember a worse spring in terms of these storms. -- Al

Just spoke to my buddy and co-sponsor of the NY Sympsoium, Hans Hedrich. Thankfully, his family are all safe, but his house and his parents house were both damaged by the storms.

Alabama took a real beating. Over 200 dead, so far, in Alabama alone and the path of destruction is huge. Tornado experts say the 4-27-11 may be the worst destructive tornado outbreak in the US in over 80 years. Almost 300 dead over several states. This is just terrible. -- Al

Very sorry to hear about the tornados in the South. Seems the world is angry these days. Our thoughts go out to all the people affected in those storm tracts. Thinking of you from Australia. Johno.

I've just seen President Obama walking through Tuscaloosa, Alabama and footage of the tornado that hit Smithville, Mississippi. Such awful devastation and the death toll rises. My best thoughts and prayers to all affected. I hope all treefrogers are safe.
