Still playing in the snow....

During the winter of 1941/1942, somewhere in Russia, a Stug III stops at a snow covered road junction to ask a guard for directions.

Dear "wwiibuff":
most splendid photos of your diorama of the German Army in Russian during winter!!!! It was nice to see another person cover up the figures stands as I always do if possible, it makes the photos all the more realistic! Again well done!
Best regards, "Iron Brigade" 3/9/2010

a couple more photos

Thanks Iron Brigade. Doing winter dios makes hiding bases much easier than regular dios. I usually don't bother trying to hide them in a summer scene. Desert scenes (if you're using sand) is another opportunity to cover the bases.

Most of us are thinking Spring and you are still playing in the snow Duke - Good for you :D;) - glad to see that you are enjoying your wonderful looking collection. Thanks once again for sharing with us.

Thanks Mike. Yes, it's been a long cold winter this year. I'm glad Spring is just around the corner.:)

Very nice! Didn't think of using the gray Stug in a winter scene, but it works well. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job on the dio. That Stug is a great model and the only early war piece I kept (except for the little Renault) when I got out of that period. Just a great KC model. Looks nice against the snow. -- lancer

Looks great. That Stug is sharp. I'll trade my PA winter for your GA winter anytime you want!

Nice work buff. Love the versatility of those K&C pieces. For example swapping out the Stug's original tank commanders and putting in the winter ones. Mix and matching is so much fun in a diorama, it never gets old. Thanks for posting.

another great dio duke.
great job.

Yes that stug is also one of my favorites. Very good dio Duke!

Yep easily the best one in the market in IMO,great Dio Duke.

It is one of my favourite models. And IMO, K&C really nailed the Panzer Grey colour by getting it dark enough - the dark grey really stands out against the snowy background.

I really think the grey stug is one of K&C's best tanks.Simmo.

Thanks. I agree that swapping out figures is fun and can almost make a tank like a new/different model with a different look.

Thanks.

I hear you about the winters.:) I think I'll keep the GA winter over the PA winter though. I might consider trading the GA summer for the PA summer.

Thanks. I didn't get the Renault... I guess you like that one if you kept it?
