Chaps,

As I drive down to the London Show, I have asked a friend to post this exciting news:

Terrorizing helpless civilians and soldiers with its infamous wailing siren, the Junkers Ju 87 or “Stuka” became the symbol of German air power and the Blitzkrieg victories of early WWII. With the great precision of dive bombing, the Stuka supported the rapidly advancing columns of German tanks in their “Lightning War” tactics, cutting roads, smashing bridges, destroying supply convoys and installations, attacking ground forces of all types, cracking fortified positions, and even sinking ships of all sizes. However, the Battle of Britain shattered the myth of the Stuka by showing its slow speed and lack of maneuverability made it vulnerable against well-organized and determined fighter opposition. Following the great success of its first Stuka, Figarti Miniatures proudly introduces the early war versions of the Stuka, with a clear, moveable canopy showing a detailed cockpit and the fine detail that Figarti is known for. Each set comes with a removable 500 kg bomb and two wing gas tanks that are attached by magnets and removable. The first is Figarti’s “Winter Stuka” (ETG-089), which displays the layer of white paint added to the Stukas of 2nd Staffel of St.G. 1 during the winter of 1941.

At the London Show, I will also have five specially painted Stukas of the yellow nose and black dog insignia of Stukageschwader (St.G.) or "Dive Bomber Squadron" 2 “Immelmann,” which is famous for the sinking of two old Russian battleships, October Revolution and Marat, one by Hans Rudel. There are only six of this version made.

I think the poster means there are only 6 of the yellow nose stuka available.
It doesn't mention how many of the winter version will be produced - hopefully quite a few.
I'm definitely in for one of these and I suspect many other collectors will be too.

WOW....Great News{bravo}}...I want one of these Winter Stukas.......Clive, why only 6 of the early war yellow nose Stukas??....Will Figarti make more of these latter???

Looks fantastic. Someone will get those.

Clive, what about a Desert version. I will sign up for that.

Hope you have a good show today.

Brad

These look nicely painted from first glance

Clive mate,
I'm with Brad. Where is the Desert version??????? You can keep your cold old snow .^&grin^&grin One or two AK versions would look nice on a Desert airstrip Dio.
Have a great show cobber. Enjoy one or two cold ales with the boys for me.
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

I`m in for the winter version. The other looks great too, but even if there were more of it in the making (only six sounds strange...) the cold white is the one I can`t resist!

Having just seen the pictures of the magnets on show after the drop tanks come of I am not keen on the look without the drop tanks on the aircraft with the magnets visible it does not look good and, on the pictures it looks like they have not weathered under the tanks so, that when they are off there is a visible clean shape left on the wing.

Don't think the magnets showing is a big deal Mitch as you can only see them if the plane upside down and drop tanks are of

Wayne...

I had some sent to me by a mate that was at the show. I will drop you some of when I get a chance.

Neil...

Sure for most it won't be but, for me, I am not keen on this type of stuff. I did not like the recoiling barrels and metal showing and, don't think this was necessary. Each collector likes certain things and does not like others these are just not for me on a display model and not necessary as things I want from something that is not a toy

The magnets are not a problem for me as long as they are powerful enough to hold the drop tanks securely.....Does anyone know first hand how strong they are???? I will probably never see the underside of this plane with the tanks off anyway so it doesn't matter...."As Long as it HOLDS"

They're pretty strong. Had a play and they hold them very securely and in the 'right direction', for want of a better description. It's a quality job with the magnets and I presume makings packing and shipping a much safer option.

It's days like this I wish I could afford to collect everything I wanted:) the winter Stuka is a beauty!!!! congrats to Figarti on some well crafted and designed planes...Sammy
