Louis, it wasn't so much what he said. It's more the fact that Andy continues to use his influence as a manufacturer to make me, and certain other members, the subject of his sarcastic replies. It's well known that you and I aren't keen on the polystone tracks. Yet Andy chose to give you a friendly slap on the back in his recent 'K & C track improvement' post while giving me face slaps in a couple of threads. A cynical person may think Andy did that to try and deny I may have had some influence on the proposed track improvements. Big deal, it doesn't mean that I won some victory over him.
I have noted that some members support Andy when he has a go at 'complaining' members. Why? Surely they can see that it is not in the interest of Andy, King and Country, Treefrog, and most other members for him to keep up these sarcastic rebutals. If I wanted to see King and Country fail I would actually encourage Andy's sarcastic tones because I can assure you guys they really PO a significant number of members and no doubt the silent majority of forum lurkers.
I make complaints about SOME aspects of King and Country figures and models because I'd like to see ALL their products as good as MOST of them are. As I said before, this is not some conspiracy. Just a keen model collector trying to encourage improvements in a company where I sometimes feel the owner thinks improvements aren't required. And I suspect you'd agree Loius that Andy may be a tad stubborn.
I guess we should all try and concentrate on what members actually say, rather than why we think they said it. Of course I'm often guilty of that myself as I sometimes see greedy investor/reseller motives behind the posts of some members. I'm considered a good judge of character (even my wife says so), but I'm sure I'm not correct all the time - especially over the internet.
For example I've often wondered why some members are rabid supporters of 'Strictly Limited Editions'. Imo SL editions seem more in favour of those members that make some money out of reselling. Whereas I feel increased numbers would expand the K & C market making their products more available. Especially on clearly popular issues such as Rommels Greif (remember that thread guys). Yet the simple answer may be that we would ALL just like to see K & C maintain its success, some of us just had different ideas.
I would also like to see us ALL get along and I may even return to collecting K & C figures some day.
Let's see how we go from here - on a clean slate so to speak.
