Quick question for some of you veteran K&C collectors. ;)

Has K&C ever produced a summer-camo Hummel??

The WS079 Winter Hummel actually has the summer 2 colour camo - dunkelgelb base with green disruptive pattern. The only thing that makes it a winter vehicle are trace amounts of frost/snow on the tracks and bow, and the figures being in winter uniforms.

Thanks heaps for the quick response guys, it's appreciated !!:D

The winter model is great, but I'd love to see a summer version with figures. Any chance of that happening in the near future Andy??

I have the winter one and its one of my favorites. Summer one would be nice but I dont think will see it.

Approximately 700 Hummels were produced with the first major deployment in Russia (Operation Zitadelle) in Summer 1943, a few months after the Afrika Korps surrendered in Tunisia in May 1943. I don't think there were Hummels in North Afrika. The main theatre of operation of the Hummels was on the Eastern Front in both Summer and Winter with some in Italy and Western Europe. The Summer Hummel was used on 3 fronts and as far as I know, Tunisia wasn't one of them. If there were a few prototype Hummels in Tunisia, there would have been only a few of them. The Germans had the Lorraine Schlepper SPG in North Afrika.

The winter Hummel is commonplace. The one you want to look for is the elusive, never seen, Tunisian Summer Hummel.:D
