T-34 (1 Viewer)

If a new T34/76 or 85 appeared WITH tank riders AND a different turret slogan I would buy it.

To be honest I am sick to death of Tiger Is. Every man and his dog and every manufacturer are pumping them out ad nauseum.Tamiya, Minichamps, Dragon, Italeri etc and a lot of them are duplicate markings. Not only that but you can't get opposition tanks.

I would suggest that the JS2 may not be as popular in sales as it made a late war appearance so it has no bearing on the selling power of a 76 or 85.

For the record I was too late in purchasing the Fall of Berlin Russians. I DO think that the range should have been bigger as the figures could have been used for mid- war campaigns. I think the "story" got in the way of a excellent range of figures.

Shhhh Patton. There are still plenty of collectors after a correct 1/30 scale Winter Tiger and of course a proper size Normandy Tiger, not to mention another Wittman Tiger, or Two.

All due respect Oxdigger but what have those collectors been doing with their time ?? Even Wittman and Carius have been done (Tamiya).

Granted 1/35 is not 1/32 or 1/30 but today's production only involves painting a new decal on an old tank.

I would love to see a
*Russian gun tractor
* T34/76, a T34/85 with "unique" markings,
* separate tank riders (so I can equip my own tanks) that arent treading on Nazi flags
* more generic figures
* Stalin and Zhukov figures
* BT tanks
* artillery with crew

I think all through the development of the plastic model industry and, corgi dinky et al german vehicles and troops were popular and, this popularity has not waivered with the transition into 1/32 and now 1/30.

Even companies now like Tascha doing 1/25 tanks start with German vehicles. I think, as one blogger has eluded to that we seem or want to view it as that the germans won the war is a little bit of a misnomer. Just because these vehicles are popular does not akin sympathy to their cause if, that were the case, then why buy Russian troops or AFV's as they, as a regime were as bad as the germans and, Stalin reigned longer than Hitler. As for the superman issue there is some truth to that whether some like it or not and, as we are discussing Kursk the germans were outnumbered 4-1 but, actually at end of battle were destroying soviet armour 8-1 in many military circles this is an amazing feat.

The truth of the matter is that german vehicles are asthetically more pleasing to more than say the Sherman etc. The Tiger has been done to death but, remains as popular as ever and, with this being the year of the tiger I would wage money that we get later in the year a winter Tiger SL.

I agree that the 'battle of berlin' was a range that could have produced some great stuff and may still as we do not know where K&C may go in that direction.

I would have thought when K&C introduced the 'kingsize' collection that things like the JSII, Jagdtiger etc would have been perfect choices but, that development seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Back to the point, it would seem likely, that t-34 in some version or other would be on the horizon

Granted, there have been several 1/30 scale Tigers issued in recent times but there are still plenty of collectors waiting for a K & C Normandy version in true 1/30 scale. I like the look of the new K & C "S33" (Eastern Front) Tiger, but at that price I am not prepared to pretend it will fit into my Western Front display.

And don't forget that K & C sub contract their production so any new Tiger they bring out won't affect their intentions (if any) regarding Eastern Front subjects - including T-34s etc.

So therefore lets have something new. I tend to think that Russian fans have missed out more than German fans as a result of K&C releases.

Truly I just shrug my shoulders at new Tiger I releases.

I've got K&C's RA013 and I like it, the attached bedsprings are an unusual touch. I do believe its time for a newer and improved version. I'm not a WWII Soviet enthusiast by any stretch of the imagination however the T-34/76 is such an iconic tank that its hard to imagine being a WWII collector without at least having one in your collection.

I do not own the K/C RA013 T-34.....I did not purchase this tank because I did not like the attached bedsprings....Had these been done as a removeable feature I would have surely purchased this tank as it looks like one of K/C's better past releases.....

I always thought the bedsprings were a nice and accurate touch to the T34. However, they look very small to me in comparison to size of the figures. I hope KC makes a few more Berlin-specific sets. There is a lot that could be done with that line that would sell. Think Hitler's Bunker or April 20, 1945 birthday with nazi personalities. It counterbalances the glory days of the LAH line that gives many collectors concerns.

I would not be surprised at all if Andy does another T34.:);)

As for too many Tigers,well that may well be the case for some of us established collectors,but for a new collector in the hobby the chance of a K&C Tiger to add to the collection is very tempting.Must remember K&C are looking to bring newer younger collectors in and what better than probably the most famous Tank of WW2.The newest version looks very good but as I have three I will let it go this time,but I hope collectors who didn't get the Winter or Tunisian versions will enjoy it.

Now if it was Grey......;)

Ah....... Panzer Grey.......It has been often requested, but to no avail....Someday....Someday....Someday....;)

As mentioned on this thread earlier, here are some pics of my radio contolled T34/85 in 1/8th scale. It was manufactured in Volgograd, assembled by Mark One tanks in Winchester, UK, and painted / detailed by me. They also do a 1/6th scale version which is a monster.

The bed frames were fun to make and we're done before K&C released their T34/85 in the Berlin series!

It has accurate digital sound including engine, main gun and MG, turn turret / up & down turret, working lights and can does about 5mph.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Thanks

JS-2 regiments were in action months before the first King Tiger was even put together:D

If you consider Italy as West Front, then technically it does qualify. I recall the LAH was sent to Italy right after Kursk, pronto.

True but they left their Tigers behind. They were split between "Das Reich" and "Totenkopf"

Leibstandarte was sent to Northern Italy to rebuild while on occupation duty. They left their heavy tanks behind, as Frank said. While in Italy they engaged in disarming Italian troops after the armistice and were involved in some atrcities. Never saw front line action in Italy before moving on in October thru the Balkans, back to the Eastern Front. -- Al
