TET ’68 comes to TEXAS 2018! (2 Viewers)

Although I gave up on K&C for Vietnam and collected FL and Figarti it may still draw me in.
Some scenics would be ideal for this series....some destroyed buildings, walls, rubble and maybe even some burned out vehicles.

Funny thing how our hobby tricks oneself... I told myself that I would never depart to collecting anything else than WWII, where there is an enormous variety of ranges within the conflict. Recently broke my own promise by diving head-on in the IDF range. Oh dear, here I go again breaking my own rules. What a marvelous surprise! All I can say is that this new Vietnam range is simply irresistible!

Marine M-48s played an important role in Hue. Hopefully one will eventually appear in this range. Also of course at the same time the Israelis were also using basically the same 90mm version. A chance here for K & C to provide armour for two ranges?

An IDF M-48 and a Marine M-48 will be a must!

I would love some scenics. I have several FL figures but nothing to display them with.

Thanks Brad and you other Guys for your enthusiasm, questions and suggestions...As I wrote earlier, in the coming days and weeks before The 'Texas Show' you will see and read more of what's in store for this exciting new series...

Watch this space!
All the best,
Andy.

I remember seeing the magazine images of Hue in 1968 taken by Don Mccullin including and yes I can remember back all these years of a young Scotsman, moving to US and enlisting to get US citizenship serving with the USMC in Hue, RVN.
Something's stick in the Memory even from the age of six ! Even did an essay on Hue in '68 in sixth form in '78 !

Wow! Great looking new series! I like that K&C is really expanding into "modern" conflicts. The Six Day War and now Tet are being covered on their 50th anniversary. Only 14 more years until K&C does the Falklands War! {sm4}{sm3}:salute::

Hi Steve,
Back in the day, if I had been an American, I would have joined the U.S.M.C.
Instead, being British I joined the Royal Marines...I still consider that one of the most formative and exciting things in my life!

Hi Andy

Back in the day at seventeen, I joined the British Army, RCT, unfortunately a health condition not picked up in the 5 Min Medical reared it's ugly head. But even now seven stents later I'm still here and like you things being different I'd have done the same !

I'm so glad that the “SATURDAY NIGHT SYMPOSIUM” is finally back! It's just not a Texas Toy Soldier Show without it. No one's happier about it than this guy. Thank you Andy. :)

First of all a BIG Thankyou to John (Obee) for posting that old K&C 'flyer' for our first Vietnam series back in 1998...

At the Chicago Show that year we had the original 'Firebase' on display...It was about 48" x 24" and as well as what you see here it also had 2 other 'Choppers' flying at different heights on thin stainless steel extension poles hovering above the fire base... Pretty awesome if I do say so myself!

Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy.

P.s. Watch out for more 'Vietnam' previews on Monday.

Tom, at least some dapper collector sold his Huey to you 😉
