With Rob returning us to normal I thought about this. If, you could have any one set for your collection it may be one you have been after for a while and, were given the opportunity regardless of expence, or, say K&C offered you the choice, etc what would it be?

For me, it would be the Royal Marine band possibly, the best band ever released IMO. I had this set and, a so called friend who visited from abroad stole it from my collection and, did not realise until he was gone. I am left only with the box and, have never seen one on the market again since. so, that would be mine.

Just interested in what people would like!

Cheers Forum Squadron Members:
For me it would have been the wooden warbird version of the Hawker Typhoon "TP." The funds were simply allocated to other sectors of the collection and that stunning kite left me before I could recover and acquire her. I have also been staring at the Avro Lancaster for quite some time as well. I am very much looking forward to the future USAAF/RAF/Luftwaffe releases!
Tally Ho,

Mitch what kind of freind wsa that?
Me it would be the JU88 desert version

For me it would be the Warbird of Boulton Paul Defiant, which I will never have the money to afford....

Vick

The K&C custom RAF Hanger that Gordon had designed to fit into the rear corner of my airfield diorama (where the V2 Rocket Platform presently sits, for want of a place to put it elsewhere). Gordon never had the time to make it for me, and I doubt he ever will at this point.

For me it is the Silk Road Elephant. That is my grail.

Mitch, that is a screwed up story on your supposed friend taking the band. That is horrible and sad. Wow.

Its probably the worst thing in my collecting history to happen. Its also with him being in the US something which, I could not do anything about. its one day its there and my ex friend returns home and its gone.

Its always wrangled me as its one of those things you don't expect a friend to do but, greed over something he did not have and wanted took over and, I lost out.

When we pop over to the states as my wife is american I always think of dropping in but, there is not much I can do as he professed he did not do it.

Its nice to hear though of other peoples sets they would like

That's a photo from my collection. I think Bill Sager took it of my JU52 at the second NY Symposium (the first at my house in Roslyn, when the museum was still just an idea).

Imagine one now days with clear glass, great plane mate will have to visit this museum 1 day this century....................;)

Silk Road. I saw pix of these before I started collecting K&C but they were long gone by the time I did start.

Your welcome to visit anytime, and yes, the JU52 would be even more amazing with clear windows. Heco Tinplate Models also made a 1:32 scale JU52 back in the 1990's, which I would love to add to my collection.

I have managed to pick up 3 items this last week that i have been after for a long time. DD61 beach under fire, AK demag halftrack and the eight army vickers light tank.

Im a pretty happy collector :)
