As the action at the great redoubt continues, the French attack the Russian lines further south..........

Further south stood Semenskoya and in front of it, another barrier of Russian man made defenses, three fleches....................

South of the Fleches, French and Russian cavalry clash............this one has been in the works for a long time, just a question of gathering Russian forces............the spectacular Borodino panorama was the inspiration for this one, not quite 100% accurate, but I did the best I could with the space I had to work with, this battle was gigantic in size and troop numbers, I would have needed two more tables and another couple of thousand troops to do it true justice..............

Thanks for the feedback, glad you like it.

The scale is 20mm, or 1/72nd scale, the figures are all metal, manufacturers vary from Hinton Hunt, Art Miniaturen, Newline Design, Qualitycast, Schilling and Kennington Miniatures.

This diorama took about 3 or 4 hours to plan out and about 8 hours or so to set up........

George you did it again!:salute:: This is an amazing set up with a tractor trailer load of troops. I wish I had a place to set up like this, maybe someday after we are done moving with the Army...

Thanks for sharing these photos, and do you have a rough count of the troops you deployed in this display?

Dave

Great as always George. Years worth of collecting and painting in these massive displays. The BLACK HOLE of Napoleonic as I call it.
Hoping to set up a Borodino display/ game this September.

My Prussian's and French are going to clash next month at Ligny .
Glad you're enjoying all the effort in even setting up your display and taking pix.Looks great. Love the redoubt!

Thanks Scott, the king of 28mm wargames that you are........:salute::

Yeah, I have a lot of fun with this, not going to lie, brings me a lot of enjoyment. Thanks for the comment on the redoubt, it's commercially available, I mounted it on a larger board and flocked it up, it's similar to the one on the other end of the table.

I might do another one of these for Borodino, showcasing the French right flank where the Poles were, a lot of action down there too, would have loved to have done it all on four tables with about 5,000 troops...........

Sure would have been fun watching you set up an for the amount of space you have you created another outstanding diorama an photos bringing us to the Battle of Borodino. Nice to see you got in some playtime and thanks for sharing it with us..............Joe:salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

You are an absolute master at these grandiose set-ups. Incredibly dedicated minute placements. I am always in awe of your massive battle scenes and am always left slightly envious when you post them :smile2:
