The Battle of Normandy................in 20mm............. (1 Viewer)

Love the buildings and terrain and layout. Perhaps I picked the wrong scale of 60mm, I could done so much more by downsizing.^&grin, very well done, no doubt a lot of enjoyment is gained from this and yes it could be used for different era's as well.:salute::, Robin.

Thanks for the comments Robin, glad you like it and yes, you can do a lot more in a lot less space in this scale, that is for sure.

Thanks again and I'm glad you like it.

George, incredible panoramic view! So much to look at, wagons, flak guns, armor. Especially like the bocage and the church with the trenches. Did I say incredible, that word keeps coming to mind. Chris

Thanks Chris, I am very pleased with the way this one came out, glad you like it................more WWII in the works for the future too..............

I can never fail to be impressed by your 20mm displays George as it brings back memories of my war gaming days many years ago. The terrain pieces you have are just superb! {bravo}}

Jeff :salute::

Btw, you've got just a couple of days left to set up Waterloo! :wink2:

Great set up George! Looks like a few places I wandered around in Normandy. Thanks for posting

Always nice to hear from you Jeff, glad you like this one and appreciate the terrain.

As you know, this is where I started in the diorama section, only fitting that I return to it.

Or everyone if your girlfriend's ***** cats get's amongst them! {sm2}{sm4}

Imagine them jumping up on the table and wandering all over Normandy like Godzilla through Tokyo; good thing they have 9 lives as they'd be using up 8 of them with that maneuver..........

Thanks Dave, glad you like it, Normandy and Waterloo are on my bucket list...........

Hi George,

Been to both and have to say that Normandy is better documented and in many places preserved fairly well also. Waterloo is a must visit but you should do it with a good walking guide book or a guide company. If you manage to hit them both in the same trip take a side trip to Verdun it is a place that everyone should see.

Wow! That's impressive George. Did you paint all those figures and vehicles yourself? I can't imagine all the man hours that were put into that. The whole layout looks great.

Thanks Joe, I am glad you like it. Some of the tanks are Dragon or Hobby Master diecast, I painted a lot of the American tanks and a good portion of the German tanks myself; I also painted a l ot of the American Infantry and a good portion of the German Infantry, mostly the FJ's and some of the SS.

I also liked your Normandy diorama, glad a Sherman will be available to you and probably some German items too..............hope to see you and your son at OTSN this year........

I hope so 2. My wife and kids actually leave for a sun filled vacation destination in the south tomorrow. Her exact words were that she needed a vacation somewhere warm and on a beach. Kinda puzzles me since we bought a house on a lake where we have a beach of our own and temps into the high 80s, but who am I to criticize. Unfortunately I couldn't get the time off so I'll have to swim with the perch and bass and pass on the sharks and jellyfish. Oh well just another card to hold in my back pocket come September.

Knowing that you painted a lot of the pieces in that layout makes it all the more impressive. I can sit for a bit and paint if there is a game on but after awhile I start squirming and can't sit still long enough to paint more then 5 or 6 figures. I guess patience is key here.

A vacation for them, one for you and a card to play in September; sounds like a winner all around.

I painted a lot of figures, vehicles and buildings back before I started in the toy soldier business, I don't have as much free time these days as I did back then.

Looking back, I must have had a screw loose to paint as much as I did, it was tedious, that is for sure, but at the same time, a lot of fun......................
