The best bowling attack in the world !! (1 Viewer)

My my aren't you gracious. Even your captain said well done to a test debutant who scored so well

Well if your happy with a draw like your high scoring captain was you won't be number 1 for long.

Happy is a strong word. Why not be gracious and leave it at that

No doubt he did very well and well done to him...but SA were still out played by a better team....:wink2:
Wayne.

A draw is a draw. Previous great Aussie teams would have got a victory. Not this team. They just could not do it twice.

Lyon bowled pretty well but he really should've won this game for Australia. Losing Patterson was critical, it meant there was never a really fresh paceman to turn to. The South Africans were outstanding on the last day. As for previous Australian teams doing a better job - didn't South Africa get away in Perth a few years ago in similar circumstances and against Shane Warne? I thought this was a great effort by this particular Australian team.

Missed this to-ing and fro-ing but to throw my 10 cents worth in, the Aussies outplayed the Proteas and i say this not just because they scored more runs and bowled better, but because they nearly won with a depleted bowling attack. They lost Pattinson through injury and Siddle was buggered through exhaustion but still found something in him to keep bowling. Sure, the Proteas lost Kallis but they had 3 fit fast bowlers (including Steyn who is apparently the best bowler in the world!) and they still struggled to knock over the Aussies until the second innings which is kinda like shutting the gate after the horse had bolted! The Proteas did a remarkable job in getting a draw and well done to that fellow who scored a ton, but i reckon if Pattinson was fit and bowling the Proteas wouldn't have saved the game and the Aussies would be one up in the series.

Nice chatting guys.
Looking forward to the final test. Will see what happens either way.
This one was exciting.
Shane Warne is a legend.

Yes, but those bowlers being 'rested' would probably use a different word or two!

Well still three days to go. A lot could happen either way.

Well it is lunchtime on day 3.
Just woken up.
Play will resume soon.

I wonder if Ricky has one last big score in him for old time sake. Will be interesting to watch
