The Death of Gordon Pasha Khartoum 1885 (2 Viewers)

So many wonderful elements and details. Your patience with placing each of the figures so carefully is seen in the outstanding results. I have to agree with Polar Bear, the mounted figure is simply superb.

That's a really fine piece you constructed Michael, a lot of work with great results. I also like the wood trim and brass palque you put on the base - very classy. Gives it a museum look.

again...I thank all of you guys for your nice comments...it was a really fun build and makes a nice show piece for my figures in my house...thank you...:)

and of course...my cartoon version...:redface2:

Not too many Sudan scenes around Mike and the one you have made is a piece of history which you have captured, spot on as far as I am concerned. The building so suits the figures. Well worth the effort when you get a result like this, so compact if you ever needed to transport and display. Very professional. Cheers, Robin.

Michael, The building is simply superb. I really love the woodwork and the Madhist climbing up onto the balcony.

Got to agree Nicholas our buddy Michael once again has out done himself with another of his well planned an stage dioramas featured with a great selection of photos. Knowing you'd finished it Michael didn't get to see the results of it until this AM........PapaZ

Mike
The photo of the horseman coming though the gate is excellent. I can't help but keep coming back to it

Fine Job

thank you Robin...Steve...Nick...Joseph...Walt and Larry...

sincerely appreciate the very polite supportive comments...

I set up a little revenge scene today...

this time the Gordons get a little payback for "The Death of Gordon Pasha"...

I even got "Jonesy" up on the balcony putting in his fair share of work...

working the bayonet on a few Mahdist and chanting...

"They don't like it up in them"...

Hi Michael,

I like the look a lot. The second set up is really nice. I wonder if you could add smoke to the scene? Making it look like they just fired the volley into the Beja. A little bit of cotton pulled apart should work. If you attach it to the rifles it shudl not fall off, until you take it off.

That's so funny, Mike! I did the same thing with my JJD Sudan stuff, right down to including Jonesy . . . :wink2:

Mike

The work that you and Carlo do in constructing your sets is heads above anything available on the commercial market.

When you think about it Mike, Jonesy, should be a young man at this stage of events, if he looks like this in the 1880's what must he look like in 1941. Your series is expanding, you are keeping the wolves away from John's door single handed. Nice display, well laid out. Cheers, Robin.
