Are the Jenkins figures limited in production?

Good Question Combat

I guess it has to be what you consider a "limited edition" - J. Jenkins has produced only 250 of some sets (british/french firing) - 500 of some (british marching) and 1000 of others (Woodland Indians)

So is that to be considered "limited edition" or "limited production" ? I dont know - but what is for sure they are "limited" - so not sure how the collector world views all that.

But, the figures are really, really great - and you know how much I love K&C figures.

Ron

Thanks Ken I was just looking on the same website and tracked down the 45th. It seems to match and they were present at the battle. Good website for reference of all British battles.

I consider it limited if the manufacturer specifies a certain number will be made and that's it even if they sell out (e.g. KC "strictly limited" editions). If they are making 250/500 sets, but may produce more if these sell out I would not consider it limited. Regardless, if I were collecting for value, these guys would be at the top of the list.

Each set of John Jenkins comes with a card showing the number of which set it is in the 250 - So, I guess it is a limited edition set.

I saw the Wolfe set at a local dealer shop today. I was under the impression it had not been released - but there it was. It looks really great you will not be disappointed.

Greetings from Oregon. Wolfe's Death is numbered QB-002. I thought that it was the first in the new Plains of Abraham series. What was set QB-001? Regards, Steve.

Hi Steve-

I do not think that the QB-001 set is already released. As far as the QB-002 set that Doug saw today, it probably is a prototype or a gift to the dealer as the month of release is April (just my opinion).

Pierre.

I cant wait to see what QB-01 is going to be???

Wolfe is a great set. :D

i had a nice email conversation with mr. jenkins back in october, 06 about his upcoming sets. he had mentioned and sent me a photo of 4 british rangers in scermishing poses that i believe he said were to be released in early 07(jan or feb). since they havent be released yet, they could be the missing numbered set.

QB-02's were posted out last week, my set should be here today or tommorrow. QB-01 is a good question, if in doubt ask the man, he is always happy to answer questions.

I was a little curious about this QB-002 set once I realized it had not been officially released. So I went back to the dealer today and bought it. It was the only one that they had in stock - #2 of 750. Really can't say enough about the quality of these figures. Also noticed that the prices at this particular dealer for the JJ figures have gone up recently which probably means they are beginning to sell.

Doug-

You certainly did a great purchase:) .

Which tends to confirm my opinion (not that I want necessarily to be right:rolleyes: ). I just talked to my dealer and the set QB-02 is not awaited until next month and he has no idea what QB-01 might be. For me, a set involving Montcalm as the first reference of that new serie is a natural.

Which is almost always happening on those occasions :( .

I think dealers are doing what dealers do - that is making money.

I have noticed an increase in pricing on JJ Figures as we post the demand on this forum.

Go figure??

I'm starting to kick myself for waiting so long on these. They really are pieces of art similar to the russian figures. Also suspect the earlier 250 limited sets will start to sell out shortly and with KC WWI sets coming in April ...

Yes - I have been certainly interested in the increase of price "over orginial retail price" from some dealers on the BM JJ series. Its that little markup - that makes me chuckle.

I know they are in business to make money - but is that extra $20 bucks over the $69 - that they snip from us - worth the poor customer relations and bad taste in our mouths??

I would like to futher point out that GEORGE at Minuteman is not one of those dealers. He has actually has the best prices on John Jenkins and works hard for customer relationships. So is Sierra Toy Soldiers - great people and great customer service.

So - Thank you George & Sierra Toy Soldiers............now for some of the rest - well I think the above statement says it all.

Ron,
Thanks a million for clarifying that, I wouldn't want to end up in Pierre's "dealers are not your friends" dog house.....

My order for the new set of Indians (WIM 04) and The Death of General Wolfe arrived today; the Wolfe set is just incredible, now I know why Combat snagged it when he saw it. Just incredible stuff, I am stunned at how many Jenkins sets I have sold the past month, well over 40 and counting.....................

Regards,
George

I'm with Pierre and hope it is Montcalm. How many of the JJ sets do you guys have? I am trying to figure out what is most likely to sell out and purchase that one next before it is gone.
