This one looks interesting and I'm a sucker for WWII historical period movies. Based on a true story. Netflix - Jan. 29.

"As WWII looms, a wealthy widow (Carey Mulligan) hires an amateur archaeologist (Ralph Fiennes) to excavate the burial mounds on her estate. When they make a historic discovery, the echoes of Britain's past resonate in the face of its uncertain future‎."

Watched it yesterday. Pretty good. About what you might expect. A nicely acted period piece.

I enjoyed this movie also. I'm glad Basil Brown got his just due. I hate it when someone takes credit for another's work. One question, is the ship or at least the shape of it still buried?

Mark, I've read some articles and viewed photos and haven't seen any of the ship since it was re-buried. Sutton Hoo is a museum now and maybe someone here has visited the site. Chris

My wife was surprised that I truly enjoyed the movie despite the fact that no one was shot or arrested {sm4}

It was a great story and I'm glad Basil finally got his well deserved credit.
