The French are coming! (2 Viewers)

I've just received an e-mail from John Jenkins about some of the up coming releases (even if I'm not an officer in the JJ fan club):( and I can state that most peoples wish list will be filled. Yes Ron, even your request will happen but you must renounce NAPOLEON for the next few months :D. This line of figures will keep on getting better and better. Best regards.
Steve
Steve,

John is always happy to chat with his collectors, as you now know.

What details did he give you?

There is only one rule to being in the JJ fan club, love of toy soldiers.

If we let Ron in the club, we will let anyone in. :p :D

You life expectancy for President's is very limited in Bolivia.....hmmmmmmmm.....wonder how that would apply here

The JJ website could do with a bit of updating. The QB figures are not even listed yet and now we have the QF series. BTW: JJ is now sold out of BM-06 and all the FM sets.

Ron,

President for a week and a revolt in the wings already. I am doing well. :D

Next week we will be starting a new policy, public flogging for every second posting. Trouble is we started that here and people started enjoying it to much, so we had to stop.

Back to JJ, Sierra has details up of the new French figures.

Regiment de La Sarre.

Limited edition of 750.

QF-03 is “Apres Vous, Messieurs Les Anglais!” Officer of Regiment de La Sarre who is/did inviting the opposition to “fire first”!

Price as per QB figures.

At 750 - we are starting to lose the "limited edition" effect - dont you think?

Thats a shame - what drove sales was the smaller productions.

Ron,

I am afraid (very very afraid) that I agree with you.

250 was a much better number. But as said, the man has to make a dollar.

I think 750 is OK on the marching figures but the others 250 or 500 even would be better.

I am now agree with Ron, God help me. :D

Aussie

You finally have gain wisdom - agreeing with me of course :D

Yep - a real shame. Well the GOOD NEWS is that we can take our time on getting these figures now with a 750 Production Number - I think that will be a little high for this collection - especially since he has limited dealers in the US - so GOOD for US ! :)

I can understand the desire for 250 limit from a collector's perspective, but if he makes 250 and goes out of business that probably is not a good result. Can live with 750 if the quality is there and he doesn't make more if they sell out. The best solution would be 250 personality figures and maybe 500-750 of the regular guys. There does seem to be some repetition in poses at this point - drummer, flag bearer, marching. Hopefully he can expand on that a bit. These are constructive criticisms (hopefully). I love the line and will buy one of everything regardless. Anyone concerned the French flag bearer will tip over given how heavy these flags are?

Combat

I will be interested in seeing how those new british Flagmen hold up - the new french flagman seems to have a balanced flag on him.

I guess the new productions numbers are alright - like I said before it will help take the pressure off buying them so quickly. Hopefully we will get some special "250 Figures" as a limited edition set?

The new figures really look great and I very happy to make more space for them in my collection.

Ron

The one that gives me fits is the flag bearer in the BM-03 set. I think he had his full allotment of rum.

LOL :D LOL

Hopefully, John caught that defect and is making corrections on balance with these British Flagmen. They sure do look great and I reall appreciate the smaller indivuals figures at a lower costs - makes it a little easier to spread out the "Defense Budget" with those and still get a little fun in the mail. :D

QF-01 is the "Death of Montcalm" according to the new posting on TM. No pictures yet.

Wow those came out big. How about a Death of Montcalm - possible model for the upcoming QF-01(?):

I find that the flag is fine if it is positioned back across the bulk of the figures base- but if it swings forward it tips the figure. I know most of you fellows wouldnt dream of gluing it but if you take some masking tape and apply it around the flags pole where it sits in the bearers hand it should give enough friction to stop it from spinning much.
