The French are coming! (1 Viewer)

Any update on when the French figures will be available from dealers? Last report seemed to be that they were ready to be shipped.

All,

My 9 sets of French have just arrived.

Once again excellent figures.

It looks like the drummer (QF-04) is not limited, similar to the Wolfe piece (QB-01), the others are 750 sets.

You will have to get in a boat to rescue these ones Ron. Now gives the British something to kill. :D

How do those uniforms look up close AM ?

Do these figures stand out enough with White?

The upcoming "Death of Lienard de Beaujeu" set should be interesting as he apparently went into battle shirtless in solidarity with his Indian allies. He wore a gorget around his neck to identify him as a French officer.

Ron,

The uniforms are not white, they are a very light bluey grey. (That the marching figures) The boots are matt white, with those two colours setting each other off, nice.

The grey colour is most likely more like the colour in the field, white would of been fun trying to keep clear and they may have been white to begin with but after 6 months is the field you get what you get.

They look very good, the detail of the paint work and the faces again is first class. But then I am the lead of the cheer club. I will have to see John about a percentage of sales. :D :D

Combat,

I have had a look at the flag bearer and the issue of falling over.

The new French flag bearer has a elongated base at the back and flag balances on the figures shoulder and hand. No way of fixing it there unless you glue it, which would not stay there long.

The flag balances very nicely and looks good, no way of the figure falling over, but the flag needs to be in the right place give or take 5mm to balance right.

Cant wait to get them - I first must finish getting the indians and canoes

My order for the French arrived yesterday, all sets have now sold, that is a 100% turnaround in less than 24 hours, remarkable. I will be ordering up another batch on Friday as more orders have come in, the response to this range has been off the charts..............

What particular item is selling best? Is it the single figures or the sets? or both - is everyone buying the entire range?

Sounds like everthing is moving. I would be curious to know whether new collectors are entering the market or if the same collectors are buying up the new releases. It's interesting because some have indicated they would not start collecting JJ because the early sets are all gone.

Greetings from Oregon. If you want to add some extra pizzazz :D to your Battle of Quebec diorama you might consider the Fronline Royal Rousillion Regiment. They look great alond with the JJ's and the Regimental Flag is really nice ;). However, the Black Watch figures from the same series don't fit as the only Highlanders at Quebec were the Frasers:confused:

If you have the space and money, the Frontline figures do make nice companion pieces to the JJ sets. For some reason though, I like the JJ figures better.

Anyone know the release schedule going forward this year? I'm guessing VA Regiment in July; then maybe Braddock and/or BOM Indians; autumn Montcalm/French.

JJ seems to be releasing a lot this year? When did he first bring out his figures under JJ Designs?

The French arrived today in Gettysburg! I picked up QF-02, 03 and 04. Sweet.

When I started carrying JJ figures back in February, I had one customer who said he was interested in the figures. Since then, between displaying them at the shows I have attended this Spring and my customers seeing them on my website, I've now got about six customers who buy the entire range as each set comes out, then another six or so who cherry pick and buy certain sets.

All in all, since I started my company eight years ago, I have never seen such a customer reaction to a product range. It has been one sweet ride to this point...........
