THE GREAT PLAINS WAR series (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the sneak peaks earlier of the Cheyenne and Sioux Braves and now featuring and sharing the Cavalry figures you found under your tree on Christmas morning as a gift from Marie which no doubt made your Christmas day...........Joe

Many thanks Joe :salute::

Cheers mate

013.JPG018.JPG Hi Martyn: Congratulations on your Christmas presents. At your invitation these are my WW6(Officer) and WW7(Trooper) Notice my base colors are the reverse of yours. The paint colors on my Trooper are different. On my Officer, the pistol is silver and there is a "U S" brand on the shoulder of his horse. I bought mine from Mike(T of T) about the time Len sold Trophy. I believe Mike asked Len to do some special painting. Tommy

Martyn,
Very nice, I know I have one or two of the Indians and a Trooper. I also have if I remember - Pony Express and a Fur Trapper, will have to dig them out. I think the fur trapper/trader, I have two different paintings on.

Very cool sets!

Not listed in THE GREAT PLAINS WAR series, it appears in the WILD WEST series but deserves a showing here

He sure is Martyn - I think he's my favourite Trophy figure yet; but how about the Fur Trader and the Bronco Buster too! Wow! Sure is just like Christmas now to see all of those as well.:cool:

However, I now have a Pony Express Rider of my own ( ex Britains) - and a very similar Bronco Buster pose of my own too (ex Johillco), so was quite content - until I saw that goldurned Fur Trapper!!!!{sm2}

I think I'll need a long visit to Dorset in the summer - and a good old chat with Giles about that one. :confused:

Thanks for all of the pics folks - they're just Superb!:D

Well..... I've already an idea of a horse that might be suitable to adapt......and a seated Injun can't be that hard to find.......so.....just the Davy Crocket type to find then.................. That makes it an almost definite maybe????:wink2::D

Seriously though, these little seen Len/ Trophy masterpieces are just great to look at - so thanks to all contributors - both for the the sheer pleasure of looking at them, and personally, for the ideas they give. Regards to all - have a good New Year jb

Note the PONY EXPRESS set is listed as DC25 and also the different coloured bases to a couple of the sets previously pictured in the thread

Thanks for the catalogue page Martyn - interesting to see I'm probably about half-way there with various lookalike pieces in my collection ( done from castings or modified old TS). Not so sure about "the Hanging Tree" - though it might grow on me yet! (sic). I've already fired off a query to one of my favourite places in Dorset - with a copied pic of the Fur Trader attached - just to see what might turn up? You never know...........:Djb
