Yes, congrats Louis! :)
And although you can't see Jazzeum's rank because he is a moderator, at 2367 posts he is really Colonel Jazzeum to the rest of us!

Just a bloody Colonel? :D

Spoken like a lawyer :D

I thought it read more like an endoresment rather than double talk. But wait, I did complete a course in environment law so maybe I'm part lawyer :)

Jazz, Jazz, Jazz ...

One year and three months ago you joined this Army is a lowly grunt Private. You knew nothing of the ways of toy soldier forums.

Now, due to your hard work and dedication to the Cause, you have received numerous promotions. You have ascended all the way to 'Colonel Jazzeum.' For that you should be proud!

Would you want to be a part of an Army where a person could be a general in a day? It not only takes dedication over a short period. It takes endurance - we're looking for a few good men (and women) who have what it takes, who have the experience necessary to lead this flock of toy soldier addicts!

Do you have what it takes?

About the vehicle numbers: why the carved or raised numbers and oher insignia? On the old wood, metal and resin vehicles had painted on insignia and numbers, and came with different numbers, so you could set up several together (if you had a small fortune to buy them, they were, unfortunately, in the range of $400 per tank). Why don't manufacturers just paint on or use decals for the insignia and numbers on the vehicles, so we can have a random selection of different numbers on the vehicles? Just my 2 cents.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for the kind words on the promotion. Shannon, how many posts until I make captain?

That's rank insubordination coming from a Sergeant Major. I may have to talk to the head of this here army about stripping you of a few ranks :D

I may be a lowly Sergeant Major, but as I live with the Commander in Chief :)eek: ) I do not fear your threats. Maybe I'll have her promote me over YOUR head just because she likes me so much ...

Nobody ever said this Army was fair:D

If Jazz is our 'Bloody Colonel', who wants the 'Major Pain' title :)

I believe The Model Railroad Industry and Companies like FOV and 21st century use a process called Tampo Printing. I am sure you have seen what I am talking about. The HO train industry, as of the past few years had done runs with different numbers, to enhance collectability and realism. It looks very professional. I really dislike the raised lettering and stars on the Jimmy, M8 and the Dodge cargo carrier. I could really use the Jimmy and the Dodge, but I can't bring myself to buy them, after seeing what it looks like in person, when I recently obtained the M8. I would like to see those vehicles redone........Firebat

Louis, it's not much of a jump--only 1250. I don't think anyone besides you and Brad have hit the 1000 mark. Excellent work!

As good as you are in the redo department, couldn't you just sand down the raised areas, repaint and decal as you would like. You do not strike me as buying for the ebay speculation, so this kind of fix could work for you. I have been able to match up K/C colors myself to finish off repairs to damaged vehicles...Michael

And 1250 is considered a "limited" number in some circumstances.

Shannon/Pete -
Any word on when the HB infantry sets are due for release? Seems like they have been hanging out there for a very long time.

Doug - There are some infantry sets already in the US, and a bunch more will be shipped this week. Dealers will probably receive their orders during the following week.

Guys, do you REALLY want several Winter Panthers with different numbers? We could do them if there's a group of you interested on them.

No problem.

Ana

Thanks Ana. Isn't it great how the feedback to the manufacturers can sometimes result in quick and positive responses. I'm pretty sure that a bunch of the guys will get together and take you up on your kind offer concerning numbering the tanks.

Now if we could get Andy to do the same on those wonderful AK tanks, the Panzer III and IV.:) Oh yeah, please.;)

Ana,
Yes only a second Winter Panter with a different number. Closed hatches, thats all for me, you don't even have to put figures in the set

Since HB has made a MG is it possible to make it with a bipod so that it could be used in a diorama. Any chance HB making a loose weapons pack.

I'm really suprised none of the companys have not started offering customization of armour. For example release one version of a Panther, then we can custom order, for X dollars, one of X amount of various custom paint jobs, add a MG for X $, open or closed hatches, figures or no figures.

We could call it Pimp My Panther

When K&C was starting out, and Andy didn't have the lion's share of the market, he did many custom jobs for good clients like myself. Some of my favorite pieces are these custom vehicles and dioramas. I think that, as companies like Honour Bound and NMA are starting out, and trying to capture a piece of the market, they may be willing and able to meet clients' special requests (i.e. to "pimp your panther"). As Ana seems open to customizing the numbers, those of you with special requests should see what Honour Bound is willing to do.
