The Invasion is Coming ... (2 Viewers)

Oz,

You can't mention toys to your wife as the reason for the trip. When I took my then girlfriend to London to meet the Nevilles, I told her it was a Valentine's Day present. Did I mention that we got engaged while we were there? Its all part of the plan: I am taking her back this December for the London show to revisit where we got engaged. Its all strategy. You should ask this Von Clausewitz guy!

Louis, if your wife ever reads this forum neither Von Clausewitz nor your strategy are going to be able to save your a$$.:D

Fred

You are absolutely right . . . IF my wife were to ever read the forum (about a one in a billion chance!)

Louis, you have a cunning mind for sure. After twenty years of marriage my wife is well aware of my cunning plans, which are about as clever as Baldrick's. I think if a suggested a trip to Paris, she'd suspect it would be for French Dinky :)

Oz,

I'm sure my wife sees right through my plans as well, but as long as I give a quasi-romantic reason for a trip, and promise her romantic activities and shopping, she will spare me for my toy soldier activities. I am trying to get Hans Hedrich and his wife to go with us, because then we can send our wives off sightseeing or shopping together when we go to toy soldier and military history venues.

Gentlemen, regarding your plans and schemes, as Robert Burns (perhaps one of Andy's favorite poets) said, "The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men, gang aft a-gley."

Then there is this expression, attributed to Sir Walter Scott in 1808, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!"

Brad,

Marriage is all about communication, but there is another quote I am rather fond of:

"Discretion is the better part of valor."

So I will continue to quietly law my rather thin schemes before my wife, and we can both enjoy me weak attempts at subterfuge.

Does it go something like this...and through the Valley of Death...On a serious note, my wife actualy supports this hobby as she knows it adds to my sanity as a calming effect thereby keeping her happy and me subsequently out of trouble to a degree. She actually survived many airshows at Duxford & even a trip to the West Coaster. Amazing as it seems-she bought a St. Petersburgh(SP?) horse st of some type all by herself being an equestrian lover. I was in shock! As for the "invasion", looks like an early winter has blocked the road at Bastogne, Arizona with no Panther in sight yet. My K&C Cessna Bird Dog has been unable to get off the ground for a recce mission due to cloud cover!

So you went to Duxford? A lucky man. I'd love to get there someday. How about posting a picture of your K & C Cessna. If you're not sure how to do it, just send it to me and I'll do it.

Discretion is indeed the better part of valor and I hope no offense was taken as none was intended

Brad,

Of course no offense was taken, we are all just having some good fun.

Beuafighter,

Do you really have a K&C Cessna Bulldog? If so can you get a photo to Brad to be posted? I would love to see one.

Cheer Brad:

Sorry but I was dreaming of my future K&C Cessna Bird Dog to go along with the Storch and perhaps the Lysander! Wishful thinking you know.

Hang Tough!

I think I read somewhere that they did make a Bronco which is perhaps the next best thing to a bird-dog. Well I like Bronco's anyway.

I believe K&C did make a Bronco. I wonder if it was a Vietnam era FAC version? I'll have to check the old lists.

Actually I thought it was a pic of yours I saw Louis. Another one for you to chase? :)

Great Detail! on the HB Panther but the winter wash is alittle light grey in color compaired to K&C 's more whiter looking color.

Cheers Louis:

Just noticed in the Spring 2006 K&C COLLECTOR magazine an interesting detail on page nine. Take a look at the picture entitled "Andy in his Den". Now, look right above the jeep & you will see the tail of a Corgi 1/32 Mosquito box. I would like to think he is making a "Mossie" for us but others will tell me that I am in a hypnotic state. Ah, the beauty of a dream!

Hang Tough!
