The Magic of Barneywomble: Australian Light Horse Dio (1 Viewer)

Brilliant Marc, these figures are fantastic, I am now going to purchase them, they look much better than the one's I have got, although they are the same poses^&confuse. Robin.

Robin,
Couple of secrets to that.
First one is easy.
Sand from Bunnings expertly applied by Wayne with a small brush. Say less than $10 and no disrespect to Wayne but no training required.
2nd part is the harder part.
Camera apparently $1600 but one of the lenses is $3700 (the long one). Then I am guessing about 20 years experience.
He makes it look so easy {sm4}
Brett
PS Excellent shots Marc.

I can relate to that Robin; I helped put them on the table and they've improved since then :) - and that $7 bag of Bunnings sand...what can I say?

Hi Fellow Collectors, thank you all for the great comments they are greatly appreciated and a bit of praise goes a very long way ^&grin It was really nice to be asked to photograph the diorama and the work the lads have done is first rate :salute:: Cheers, Marc

When Michelangelo was painting the Sistine Chapel no one was on hand to get a photograph. Brett did not make the same mistake.

Gentlemen

A simply superb display-kudos to you all. A good friend of mine- who is a professional photographer for an advertising agency- gave me a piece of advice some years ago when he first viewed my TS collection in a diorama set-up "Bob, to bring out the fantastic detail of your figures invest in a half decent camera you won't be disappointed". These photographs of your quite brilliant diorama perfectly illustrate that sound advice for they are absolutely sublime. I have stated many times to collectors that K&C figures always repeat always photograph magnificently-Barney has proven that too. Well done to you all sirs from a very impressed Reb.

As Jack said in first post these are the preview. Not sure how many Marc took but certainly hundreds and I believe he is editing to get the best ones so could be a few more days before Jack can put up others. I noted he took several of some small viewpoints but the interesting shots are going to be the larger group shots.

Whilst he was taking the pics we were talking about the old days of the rolls of 36 films and how would not know what you had until developed. (OK Marc probably knew {sm4}) I remember going on holidays with 30 rolls of film. Now Marc does not even know how many pics his camera can store it is that many.

Don't bring that camera with you if we go fishing Marc, you'll likely drop it in the drink with that big lense an all!! {sm4} Again mate, superb pic's.

Tom

A very professional job indeed! Well done to all involved. {bravo}}

Jeff :salute::

Congratulations to all involved in this project,especially to Barneywomble(Marc,I believe) whose photography has brought it to life.Looking forward to seeing it in real life.A display like this can only help interest in Australian history(sadly lacking in schools over the last two decades~in my opinion anyway) and,maybe,in the hobby of collecting military miniatures.WELL DONE THOSE MEN!

We made a few minor changes to the dio to-day, added a couple of extra things here and there so we may have to get Marc back in for more photos....:wink2:{sm4}
Wayne.

I am open to all bribes {sm4}

cheers
Marc
Mate, your services will be needed for awhile yet and at least I will not ask you to wear a tie at any stage. :wink2: Your photos were so good we spent a bit of time adjusting and dusting a few odds and ends on the table that we only noticed from your great shots. I look forward to sharing a beer or three with you at grand unveiling. :)
Wayne.
