Enjoyed this thread Martyn (thanks, Tommy).
Wish I could find some of those figures. Great stuff.

Cheers,
I picked up this box yesterday and will try to get photos on later this week. Interestingly, the box cover is different (non-descript) and it actually came with two certificates (obviously an error), numbers 15 and 16.

Good things come to those who wait ^&grin
Martyn,
Yes, they are, and on the same piece of paper. They probably forgot to cut the piece of paper into two separate certificates.
Do you know how many sets were made and sold. Since you have number 25, I'm assuming at least that number.
Brad
I can send you a scan if you like Martyn.

hi tommy, i have never seen the zachary taylor figure, could you post a picture of him?martyn has some great close up photos of bba1-battle of buena vista. For those of you who have this set or wanting to collect it or add to it, there are individual sets to look out for, such as us1-american artillery battery and maw1-urgent dispatch. Also, maw2-with bayonet and carbine and maw3 mexican volley. There is a trophy of texas special commission -tt20-old rough and ready-zachery taylor.

with the recent sales of alamo or mexican war sets on ebay i was wonder how rare those sets are? 279.99 for a new orleans grey set
199.99 for the volley set and 179.99 for the texian flag bearer. Those prices seem high, they can't be as rare as the ww1 turkish sets.
does anybody know?
