I just finished a little gem from Centurion Miniatures (France). It is a ronde bosse, which is a very high relief version of a flat. The undercut's are quite deep so when painting you really have to look at it from the sides, top and bottom so as not to miss anything. Example:, you can stick the tip of your paint brush behind the flow of milk coming out of the pitcher. It is resin and i painted it in artist oils. After completing the piece i put a close eye on a copy of Vermeer original, and then added a few details that were not on the sculpt , like the broken pane of glass in the window, the nail in the wall above her head, the baseboard tiles with cupids painted on and the foot warmer
It is an odd size close to 4x3.5 inches so hard to find a frame. I may just mount it on a piece of black velvet covered card with no frame and let the black surround draw in the viewers eye The piece was mounted in a butter container lid for easier holding while i painted

An interesting project, though you need a good eye and steady hand, as is true for so many painting projects. 👍🏻
