The Power of First Legion (1 Viewer)

Rob,

I'm only saying what Matt has hinted at here so it seems pretty obvious (but not set in stone I suppose) that Matt will be making WW II. I really have no information otherwise.

My first FL figures are due to arrive Monday :)

Am only kidding guys.I am enthusiastic about this as i think FL with their quality product could become a major provider of WW2 Figs alongside the best in the hobby.

Rob-
I think we will find out shortly. From the posts on the Canadian forum, I'm guessing something different in the WWII line - maybe Italy and/or Eastern Front. Looking forward to some great WWII personality figures as well if the Naps line is any indication.

Are you two keeping something from me?!.You know secrets are only fun if you share them!:D

Rob
Just connecting the dots mate; Matt has provided many dots. They don't make an indentifiable picture yet but the image is beginning to take shape.;):D

Hey Doug,

Must say either Italy or the Eastern front would be welcome indeed, perhaps FL could fill the gap that there is for Eastern front collectors right now.

I'll try to be patient mate;)

Well if it is an consolation, that is what I am trying to do as I wait for (hopefully) some British Dragoons and French Cuirassiers.;)

As i said earlier i love the Nap figures i saw in London last weekend,i can see why you guys are into them so much.I saw one figure with flag(think he was a British soldier)and the way the flag was sculpted was spot on,very realistic.

Rob

If only one could say what one wanted ;).

I am very much in favour of a "one-stop-shop". I was until recently a big collector of 1/6 Movie & "Designer" Figures, with some EoI samurai (around 40 sets) sitting in between these.

Also bought bits of K&C, Conte, until I sold these all off again (couple of K&C left) but there was never the "passion" about collecting toy soldiers as there was for 1/6 Figures...until...until...I discovered Aeroart (interest grew), Boris (Kolobob) and until I saw FL. Not at all a Naps enthousiast (my father is though) but I started to buy the line...Now I finished the 1/6 to focus entirely on FL...especially as they brought out samurai!!! and as they will bring out ... oups say no more .... soon...or not soon, or not at all...

Anyway, for me their figures are a level above in terms of sculpting, painting, poses. They just look good. Difficult to describe, but I think they are the perfect match; they are how I would be producing figures myself...

Whatever they will bring out - and only Matt (ok and some others ;) ) knows, I am sure it will be a success.

In addition to that, Matt is truly a very nice and approachable person. Not over-sensitive either :p.

As I said, for me the perfect one-stop-shop.

First off, thanks to you all for the kind things you've said about our figures and the confidence you've all expressed in our company. It's much appreciated.

As for WWII, I won't say if, what, or when, but I will say that I absolutely guarantee you that if we move forward on this, it will be vastly different in so many ways than the figures you currently have in your collections. I think it's clear to anyone who has seen our figures that our goal has never been to match what anyone else is doing, we don't concern ourselves with such things, and WWII would be no exception. So love it or hate it, it will be 100% First Legion.

Regards,

Matt

Why can't we talk about the product without a dig at another producer,i just don't get it?

Rob
I didn't get the dig; it seems like he was just relating what he liked about what he had collected. Surely that is not offensive to anyone. I am all for polite but there is room in that to be candid, even if it is critical, is there not?

I think the phrase 'he is not over sensitive' is a dig at another producer.I just felt here we are enjoying a discussion about the product, whats the point?

Rob

That's your interpretation of what I wrote and engages just you Rob.

Now am I being over-sensitive now?

Far be it for me to spoil anyone's fun guy's.
It's been an enjoyable conversation about the merits of 1st Legion and their products. May I respectfully ask that we please try and keep it to 1st Legion if we can and not be sidelined. There's an entire section elsewhere on the forum where over-sensitive, or otherwise, toy makers can be discussed.
Not trying to do anyone's job here - I'd just like to continue the conversations in their previous vein.

Kind Regards
Harry

Well Harry, I am impressed with your sensitivity.;):D I am all for your suggestion, but let's just not get too twitchy on sensitivity here. There should be room to make a comment about the manufacturer in question without having it be taken as a slight at another manufacturerer, who some just happened to have been labeled with the reverse of that comment. If we are going to be judged by the absolute letter of our remarks, we are all in trouble and lords knows I am less than thrilled with the chilling effect of such implied restraint. No offense intended to you Rob (or anyone else) but can we just chill a little until we can find someone worthy to cast the first stone? That would not be me of course.;)

Thanks Harry,so back on track, any idea roughly when we may hear from Matt re any new range release?

Rob
