Many thanks jb :salute::

I don't know if Mike does castings or not, I'll ask the question:wink2:

Cheers

Martyn:)

Words fail me - that is a masterpiece. Please do pass on my admiration to the guys at LL. Note that I have in the past asked them whether they do castings versions of their pieces - but have unfortunately, always come up with the wrong answer, (very politely though!). Shame that, as I'm from their neck of the woods originally - and know Penarth pretty well. If you do however, manage to persuade them - I'd have those pieces like a shot - and give them my best shot at a paint job!

You could assure them that I'd never part with it whilst I'm still around - or do anything untoward with the pieces.

Do treasure it though (as if you wouldn't):D - as I think the idea - and execution of the scene is simply magnificent. Well done indeed to all concerned. I also think that a new AVATAR might be on the cards here!:wink2:johnnybach

Completely agree with jb, Martyn ..... at a loss for words to describe how wonderfully you and Mike have recreated that painting of the last stand. I think this demonstrates quite clearly that Mike is really one the best in the business and that you're pretty darned good at coming up with great ideas for Mike to showcase his talents.

Outstanding! {bravo}} {bravo}} {bravo}}

Hi Martyn,

This set of the Shangani Patrol figures is outstanding. You have made an excellent recreation of the "Last Stand of the Shangani Patrol" as in the Allan Stewart painting. I also enjoyed reading the summary of the action at the beginning of this thread.

Thanks, Raymond. {bravo}}

1 November 1893, 2,000 Matabele riflemen and 4,000 warriors attacked the British South Africa Company commanded by Major Patrick Forbes at Bembesi, about 30 miles north-east of Bulawayo

Many thanks Jeff :salute:: Those green boxes carry a lot more ammo than brown ones and the Maxims tend to use a lot of ammo....as the Matabele are about to find out :wink2: ^&grin
