Great looking set up, Robin!:salute:: The sound locator was previouly done by William Britains (in the 30's) and Heco Tinplate Models (in the 80's) but this is the first time I've seen it done in matt.
the sound locators were a great aid for the 'bird gunners' and even more so in WW2 with aerial bombardment and the advent of radar has changed the sort of equipment used.
Locating batteries were an integral part of artillery and used by Vietnam fire support bases to detect enemy fire and so neutralise that with counter battery fire.
