The Spanish Civil War (2 Viewers)

JJD Armour: John is a master sculptor his AFV's are possibly the best in the business. We are bugging him to do WWII stuff, but because he sculpts everything himself, that would be on the back burner.

The market needs another WW2 manufacturer like a hole in the head. I hope it burns at the back forever if I'm honest.

I agree. John has gotten to where he has by not being a copycat but by doing things outside the norm. I think we all know what those are.

well, I think the SCW was a great campaign to look at and has been done very well. The AFV's and aircraft are really superb. The range however is quite restricted in what can be done IMO (maybe that's one of the attractions for both manufacturer and collectors)

I would like to see some WWII AFV's done with the same quality and attention to detail that JJD have done but, can understand why some don't want this. It must be quite tempting when you have released armour as good to enter a very popular era

JMO, but I wouldn't mind John doing an obscure conflict related to WW2, such as Nomonhon, as the Russian armor would be similar to what he is already doing with the SCW, and Japanese armor could be of interest. Same goes with the related aircraft. I would NOT like to see him spread his efforts into WW2 proper which, as has been mentioned, is already covered quite adequately by numerous makers. JJD's strength and appeal is very much the less covered conflicts in which he has excelled. There are plenty of WW1 related aircraft, armor, and figures, along with his many other lines, to be filled out. Why dip into a subject so well covered by others? Although I have no doubt that anything John does would be outstanding, there is no need for more Tigers, Shermans, T-34's, and what have you. -- Al

I expect again many figures for the SCW.Italian troops fought in it, so why not an italian Tankette (CV33)?Like said before JJ gives the best with "obscure" (not beaten by other manifacturers) conflicts..Why not a Russian-Japanese War of 1904?Or a Chinese-Japanese war of the 30's?Again i'd like to see a FT tank(can be used in a time span of 30 years of conflicts)..:)

Hey keep your eye on the road....you almost hit the ammunition truck !

Well done, although I'm not sure that's a typical Spanish countryside.

I got it from a Travel Agency promo on the internet advertising a trip to Spain ^&confuse I have never been there so I have to take their word as far as accuracy.

Then I stand corrected!

Having lived in Spain for many years and having seen Franco (or his double) as he drove down the Paseo Castellano (or the Avenida Generalisimo Franco, as it was then called), I heartily recommend any trip to Spain. It's one of the most fascinating countries in the world.

I will have to put that trip on my "Things to do while retired" list. ^&grin NJ got so much uglier since Sandy, many once beautiful trees distorted and peoples landscapes destroyed everywhere.......

Gee, just stumbled upon this, awesome dio and pic Alex! Must venture into the Jenkins section more often..

Tom

Glad you enjoyed it. I am new to JJD stuff myself and I am very impressed.
