CS King Tiger & KC Snow Tiger go very well together sizewise. They both are very good pieces.

Thanks guys. Just having fun with the tanks. After checking out the two tanks more closely, I'm amazed at the level of details on the King Tiger and the figurines are also very nice. Good job CS.

They do work well together and the snow troops look great. Thanks for the pics.

Outstanding pics cnq - thanks for sharing. They do go quote well together, especially in the nice scene you have made.

Mate they look awesome together great pics thanks for posting them.

They appear to be compatible according to size....How do they match up according to style and paint?...Are you pleased with the paint of the CS Tiger?? I have heard the turret decal is not that good on the CS Tiger ...I guess it could easily be removed and replaced??......Could you critique the positives and negatives....I am on the fence about the CS King Tiger.....Thank you for any info you can provide....Best Vezzolf

Hi Vezzolf,

I'm very pleased with the painting & weathering of the CS King Tiger winter vesion.
Since the one I have is without zimmerit there is no problem with decals. The King Tiger has lot of little details when compared against KC Snow Tiger. The tracks are much cleaner as well. All the hatches are opened & closed. And for the money they are selling it for you can't beat it. Oh yes the wire air vents are very nice as well

Hi Vezzolf. I got a Normandy KT, with zimm. and Porsche turret. It is an excellent model with the exception of the decals. They definitely do not adhere well to the zimm surface as they do not sink into the roughness at all. In fact, I have removed the Tigerhead in the white circle on the turret and I also removed the German turret crosses. I have painted the crosses back on and they turned out well as they now look like a rough field application. I have no plans to replace the tigerhead or fool with the turret numbers. The numbers are not such an issue as the ones on the right side are mostly hidden by a track link and the numbers on the left side I can live with. I like the appearence of the turret MUCH better with the altered markings. Overall detail is excellent and the camo job is to my liking as well. Match's up well size wise with the KC KT. CS camo paint job is darker than KC KT camo and looks to be more accurate in tone. I like the CS KT well enough to order another, one without zimm and with a Henschel turret. Hope this helps. -- Al

As far as the decals are concerned, you might try solvaset. It is a decal softener. It will help set the decal into the zimmerit. Maybe also a bit of matt sealer afterwards.

As far as the KTs are concerned it is on my list. Got to handle them during the show. Wow!

I noticed there is no "Cross" on my CS King Tiger winter no zimm ? I checked both sides but it wasn't there. I wonder if they forgot to put it on mine ? Can someone who has the same tank confirm it ?

Thanks for the decal advice, KV. May give it a try on the turret numbers. I had made up my mind to remove the tigerhead decal before I even got the KT model in hand. Just didn't like it. But, on the whole, as you said, wow! These are great models. I have always liked the way the Porsche turret version looks and I am excited about getting a Henschel turret version next. ^&cool -- Al

I would also have cut the decals if you wanted to keep CS or, buy new ones or make your own and adhere them one at a time.

They are so good sets they are not diminished even if you remove them altogether. Al would like to see your custom work

Hi Mitch. In all honesty there wasn't much work or skill involved. Removing the crosses and tigerhead was just a matter of prying underneath and a little light scrapping. The paint is good enough to withstand light scrapping without coming off. I replaced the crosses by simply painting them. Same size and style but the paint sinks into or passes over the zimm thus giving a rough "field applied" look, and very realistic from what photos I had. Unfortunately I cannot post pictures but I like the results quite a bit. That tigerhead unit emblem just didn't look good to me as it is within a white circle that could be seen across my room. Too good an aiming point for a Firefly or a AT gun, I fear. Looks much better without it. -- Al
