Good Day Gentlemen,Is there any interest among our members in the civilian side of Trophy Production ? The reason I ask is whilst doing some research into one of our early sets--- The State Landau. It made for an interesting yarn I thought if I can talk my friend into photographing his Landau I will send it in for your delectation.Regards Len P.S. Is there any chance of altering my "Rank" to Lance Bombadier, having attained this rank in the Royal Regiment of Artillery I feel quite proud of it.When I first mentioned to my fiance my rank she replied "I didnt know you were in the R.AF" I still went ahead and married her !!

Hi Len

I, along with quite a few other Forum members, love the Civilian range and would love to see pictures of the State Landau and here the yarn

Cheers

Yes please Len, anything civilian or royalty related would be fabulous!! A request has been sent to the Reuss' to see about your rank change as well.

The T & C series is/was a great one and I would love to see some photos.

Dear Len:

During our visit with you in Wales in July 1995 we saw Mike working on the Christmas set "Over the Top" for 1995. We also have a few other XM sets from Trophy as well. It seems that your Christmas sets that you came out with each year were popular. It would be splendid if you could post some photos of them some day.

Len you certainly knew how to charm the ladies. When my wife and I visited you on our honeymoon in 1997 you gave her a set "Posting a letter to Santa" After that my wife never objected to any red boxes arriving or cluttering up the space. As long as she had some of those wonderful civilian sets around.
I would enjoy seeing more images of the civilians.

Dear "damian" & Len Taylor:
I have to agree with the above noted comments. My wife too had a greater appreciation of my toy soldier hobby after a most gracious tour of your operations in Wales on 9 July 1995.

I like the building and I have most of the figures. I am always on my chase for Trophy civilians.
Funny enough the Lion is the only piece in the Crimea range, I am looking for.

Very funny, Martyn :)
I have only 3 Crimea sets I told you about and I am selling them soon. The Lion is the ONLY piece I would like to have from the Crimea range.

Dear Len:

I first viewed your January 2011 posting today. I thought I would post some photos of our #4 sets of Trophy's "XM" or Christmas sets and the winter time "C" or Civilian sets. First photo is an overview of the four sets. 2nd photo is of Set# XM20, 3rd photo is of XM14 and 4th photos is of the two sets of C81 & C82.

From Trophy's Civilian series are C-81, Ice Skater Set#1 of "Grandfather & grandson" on the ice with grandfather needing help of his grandson! Set# C-82, "Victoria & Albert" with Victoria needing some help!

From Trophy's Christmas series are Set# XM14 from about 1989, "Finishing Touch" has granddaughter puting a hat on a snowman with help of her grandfather. Set#XM20, "Over the Top" from 1995 had soldier father making a big snowman with his son about to "go over the top" with mother running to help thier son!

We were in Trophy's place of business in SE Wales on 9 July 1995 and my wife & I saw Mike Nichols working on this up coming 1995 Christmas set and I have a photo to prove it. Splendid looking sets which I gave to my wife as Christmas gifts many years ago now. My wife, Karen, still wants to keep these sets and still remembers our splendid visit to see the Trophy Miniatures operations in Wales now over 16 years ago. Alas, I did recently sell via Consignment sale at Treefrog Treasures Trophy Set# XM11, "Christmas Latter", due to revising of our displays. However, it went to a splendid member of the Forum who will be giving this XM11 set to his wife who came from Northern England for a Christmas gift. I am sure she will love it!
