Sorry I’m not done yet with the WAN! {eek3}

Here we have the Gunboat and crew being shadowed by a small war band of Mahdist warriors running along the river bank.

Figures – WBritains
Scenics – JG Miniatures
River Mat – JG Miniatures
Acrylic Case – Picture Box Display Cabinets

Cheers :salute::

That is amazing, if that gun boat doesn't cause awe I don't know what could.

Jeff,

That is an awesome set up you have!! The gun boat is probably one of the greatest works of art Britains has ever done and I wish I could afford one.

Thanks for sharing these pics. They look terrific.

This is a great set up Jeff. Everything goes together so nicely. A pleasure to look at.

Thanks Josh, it has that effect on visitors to our home - which is not a bad thing for the hobby!

Thanks Mark, I had to wait a year for this one - but my god it was worth it!

Thanks Duke, it's the centre piece of my collection!

I would like to add a big thanks to all those who have followed along with the likes! :salute::

Hi Jeff,

This is a fantastic display. I recall you posting this before on the forum, but it has just struck me how you have displayed so much in a relatively small space. You have the sizeable Gunboat on the Nile plus the Dervish warriors on the river bank.

If I may ask, what are the dimensions of the Acrylic Case (Picture Box Display Cabinets) ? Did you make these cabinets yourself ?

Thanks, Raymond. :)

Thanks Raymond.

There was a previous thread last year and since then I have added a few more Dervish figures and another palm tree.

The acrylic case measures 38" long x 18" wide x 12" high and comes on a light oak veneered base. This was made to order by http://www.pictureboxdisplaycabinets.com/80336/info.php?p=13....scroll down to the bottom and you will see the original display.

Cheers :salute::

JG now make a water display similar to Jeff's. Thanks for the measurements as I want to get a similar base but for another maker's boat :wink2:

Hi Jeff,

Thank you very much for the dimensions and the helpful link. I got to see your original display of the Sudan gunboat at the bottom of the webpage, as you said.

There are some great ideas for display cabinets. For practical and cost reasons, I should get a carpenter to custom build locally rather than have these large items shipped from the UK.

Thanks again, Raymond. :)

Brad, those photos on the JG Miniatures website are of the one John made for me. He will make other sizes I'm sure if you ask. Photos don't do it justice - the water effect is remarkable.

Thanks Mike, It is something I've wanted for sometime and has to be the centre piece of my collection (and your right again about the compliments).

Great combination of figs, base, and background Jeff. Well put together. Chris

Thought this thread created by Jeff and the photo in the calendar by Robin would be the ideal place to send along this months calendar with all a good month headed your way.....The Lt.
