Thanks, I wasn't aware of this particular incident so thought I'd share it.

The period before the Dunkirk evacuation is one of chaos and survival, often overlooked and the Germans were responsible for committing many atrocities during this early faze of the war.

I had not heard of it either, however unlike some of the Mark Felton videos this was factual. My guess is it was a 'heat of battle' situation as they were unsuccessful in convicting their commander after the war, which was a rare occurrence. It's rare that any conflict occurs completely within the 'accepted' conventions of war even in our supposedly more civilised times.
