Great work Johnny! I dont see a lot of folks collecting these let alone repairing them! Very nice to see.

I couldn't believe my luck, when he turned up on e-bay M. I thought he might go for a good price - as the Charbens Rodeo Set is scarce - BUT he was broken - so couldn't stand up. Kept watching - and on the final day - he was still attracting no bids - so.......on the off-chance, I made the seller an offer................and..............he accepted it!!

I was both astonished and delighted, as I've wanted to have one of him for an age. There are other versions of bronco busters about - and I think I have a few of them. Off to watch our local Rugby shortly - but I'' dig 'em out later - and take a pic or two. Not many seem to collect these nowadays, and maybe some who do, can't fix 'em - which is good for me.

Fond reminders of a past childhood - and Saturday matinees for me.:D Yee-ha! jb

As promised - here's a couple more of my "Rodeo Stars". Sorry for delay - still can't find a box from the move. Labels fallen off somewhere - but these are most of them. Some are "compilation figures" - and others have missing bits restored - but all are good fun. may have found a rider for that mount that the gal with the whip is trying to calm down. :D Have to see if he fits the saddle - when he gets to the Ranch. jb

Thank you !

Really like your bases (you have explained them before), but they work so well !

No ability here to find, cut and polish them like you do.
Inspirational though.

Find a small engineering business, garage maybe, that do repairs on vehicles. Some still use metal sheet - usually some alloy of aluminium. They are almost bound to have small off-cuts - and rather than just bin them - sometimes, they sell them off - and get SOME return back.

I buy mine from a small engineering company - usually for £1 - 2 pounds (negotiate). When cut down to the size I want - they usually come in at pennies per figure. They come in all sorts of shapes and thicknesses - and are easy to cut with a hacksaw - and I use various files to clean off edges and round off corners. They also drill easily with a pin-vice.

Ask some tin bashers locally - they may know?

Keep searching and asking - and you may be lucky. jb
