50 and 60 degree temps coming this week. The first sign of Spring after a long cold spell that ran my utility bill up to around $800. I'll keep an open mind but so far, so bad on those "day one" campaign promises to lower prices "drill baby drill." At this point, I would settle for progress on just about anything. Even the stock market is tanking. How are those mass deportations going? No one knows because they stopped reporting numbers and just fired the guy they appointed acting ICE director. So my spidey senses tell me not so good even if Kristi Noem looked pretty good in her tactical assault costume.

If after four years 51% of the people are not happy with the path, Republicans will be bounced and Democrats will be back in charge.

I'm taking the gas pipe thanks to Chinese tariffs, no one is paying the freight on those other than me, the importer.

Just a terrible, moronic decision to try to whack China and instead, China skates but importers like me pay the freight.

The Great Depression happened largely due to idiotic tariffs like this one.

My fear is that Musk is derailing the inflation and immigration agenda with his Sideshow Bob act. He is creating chaos and confusion and deflecting time and energy from the issues that were of the highest priority during the election. I do like the foreign policy objectives to end the wars and force Europe and others to do their part. In contrast to Musk's clown show, Rubio and company are doing a great job.
 
"White Lotus" on HBO. I'm just making my way through season one but it's a wicked riff on the superficial nature of modern-day privileged society in our age of Idiocracy. Hard to tell if the show is laughing at them or with them, however. Maybe that's the point. It's both sad and funny because there are a lot of hard truths.
 
I still like my Toy Soldiers, glossy and newer, even though we have to cut back collecting.
I'm sure Julie will sell us a few more items, but circumstances lean against collecting now - and we may be too old to start again in any significant way. We will get a Hittite chariot and plenty of Mongols for their Japanese invasion... Also Helen of Troy fame and maybe a Scot or two... Plus surprises which we will try to avoid...
It is sad to have to stop collecting but I'm not willing to part with my Nostalgic old figures to buy new ones and we would be wiser to sell than buy. But we love our collection and everyone who helped us (that includes you, Julie & TF crew) and so many others.
It's not quite over yet! (for us)

Ordering the most obscure books imaginable and having Amazon deliver them to my door within 24-48 hours. Pretty amazing.

The first season was great and the second season good.

The current season seems to be going for a shock effect type of plot that I hope most viewers see right thru.
 
LeBron broke the 50K points scored mark last night. No one else has scored more than 40K. Love the guy or hate him, that's a big accomplishment. Meanwhile Ovechkin is closing in on Gretzky's goal scoring record.
 
Reading that the South Carolina Supreme Court has rejected the final appeal of Brad Sigmon, clearing the way for his Friday execution via firing squad.

Sigmon beat his ex-girlfriend’s parents to death with a baseball bat. His plan was to kidnap his ex-girlfriend and then kill her and himself. She escaped from his car as he drove away.

It is my sincere hope that his execution moves forward and he does not escape justice.

People who hate on him are jealous and wish he was on their team, like all the morons who hated on Brady.

He was executed last night in a more humane fashion than his victims.
