Things that I really like (4 Viewers)

Heard on the radio that Disney has shelved the woke version of Snow White. I remember holding my 4 yr old son on my lap to watch the original. It's a shame what they've done to Walt Disney's company.

My wife I used to love to go to WDW in the 70's. 80's, and 90's, we'd take our nieces and nephews and have a great time ... and for a reasonable price too. Then the libs took over, the prices skyrocketed, they made crappy woke movies and pushed their lefty agenda on ABC and ESPN ... Walt must be rolling over in his grave. You couldn't pay me to go to WDW nowadays!

Turns out Disney is releasing Snow Caucasian next month after all. :(

The mayor of Philadelphia. I probably don't agree with a single one of her policies, but she nailed the press conference this morning regarding the plane crash. She showed strong and competent leadership unlike the fools in New Orleans and LA.

She missed spelled Eagles while leading a cheer for the team and then laughed at herself when confronted with that. I like that and more pols could follow her example. BTW, crime rate is down during her watch.

I read that they want to remove the holographic image off the “person” hanging by a noose in the haunted mansion ride.

The reason: it might trigger people who are suicidal.

The blockbuster trade between the Lakers and Mavs. AD for Luka. AD was a great player, but he was also injured as often as he was healthy. Interested to see how Luka and LeBron share the ball. They play similar types of positions. Both guys are used to being THE guy. Sometimes that doesn't work out.

Great trade for the Lakers; now they will FINALLY start getting a favorable whistle from the refs.

Can't believe the Mavs didn't insist on Bronny as part of this trade.

Two ball hogs on the same team and neither can play a lick of defense, that'll work out well.

Watching Luka pretend to play defense in the finals last year was the most comical sports viewing in my lifetime.

But this is not a now trade, it's a down the road trade when LeFraud is gone and the Lakers have a superstar/top 5 NBA player/future MVP in his prime under contract to build the team around.

I bet the Lakers aren't done trading as they have no one on the team who can play defense, another move is coming for sure, maybe two.

Ainge's vision finally comes true; AD and Kyrie on the same team, imagine if the Celtics were dumb enough to bring AD here, a guy who's healthy for 10% of an 82 game season, no thanks.

There is some buzz that LeBron might be traded. I doubt the Lakers are that bold, however. They must have something in the works, though, as they have no center and were already one of the worst defensive teams in the league even with AD. AD could be a beast when healthy and focused. Unfortunately, that was only on a rare occasion. I watched a bit of the recent Laker-Wizards and Lakers-Knicks games. Couldn't believe how bad the quality of play was. The Wizards are like a high school team. The Knicks didn't look much better. No one plays much defense. They launch three point shot after three point shot. The golden days of the NBA are over. I can still remember the 80s with Magic, Bird, Dr. J, George Gervin, MJ etc.

I heard he might be headed to the Warriors, we'll see. And yes, in truth, no one plays defense anymore, all they do is heave up 3 point shots, the game is a shadow of its former self.

They removed the red ***** from Pirates of the Caribbean. You just can't make this shiiite up! Stupid is as Stupid does.

I like transparency especially when it comes to USA Income tax dollars and how they are spent. Anyone following the USAID scandals???? Holy Smokes what a mess. I am sure when all is said and done, you could make a documentary that would flow more like a thriller novel. As I like to say, you just can't make this up.

Although I don't always agree with Tom, he is a font of wisdom and an asset to our Hobby. He is an expert. I even picked up a guy from him.
I agree with him 99.99999999999999999999% of the time and yes, he's an extremely knowledgeable collector, a lot of fun to hang out with at the toy soldier shows as well, I'll give him that.

Plus he and I have been known to make a deal or two together.............;).

I'm with you up to a point. There are certain crazy woke agenda items being funded by taxpayers. What happens in the media, though, is that they take the most extreme examples and make it seem like that is all that is being done within an agency. Instead of taking a wrecking ball to everything, it would be better to target just the crazy stuff. The Godzilla approach just creates chaos. It's a bit lazy and sloppy. And when all is said and done, the courts will likely overturn the ability of the executive branch to halt spending authorized by Congress. So absolutely nothing will be accomplished except to create chaos. They are currently touting 20K federal employees taking the Musk buyout. In a normal year, something like 70k federal employees voluntarily retire and another 70K resign. This is just a paid vacation for those who had already decided to quit or retire. It's laughable to view that as downsizing government.

6 million to promote tourism in Egypt, 2 million for sex change operations in Guatemala and 20 million for a Sesame Street production doesn't move the needle for you?

Meanwhile, CA is in ruins and North Carolina is still a ****show, but hey, whatever.

A disgrace is more like it.

But I suppose like the condom story, these numbers will get debunked too then.

The sad thing is the condom story is probably not completely untrue. You know the old words - smoke equals fire. The truth is always somewhere in between. I read on this one extensively back to the requested audit by the Senate from I think nearly 4 or 5 years ago. It has always been a crapshow at USAID. It is sad, but I really believe it is probably worse than what has been reported. There have always been rumors the agency spends what it wants and doesn't care what it was supposed to do. You really don't want to believe it, but unfortunately in this case, I am leaning on truth.

I hear ya. I don't agree with everything either but it sure seems to occupy a lot of opposition times. One thing is I really don't think Trump is stupid, I think his in the moment reactions, rhetoric is a distraction and unnecessary and a portion of it is without class which I can't stand. However, I think his strategy is exactly what he intends to do and is carrying it out. For example, my opinion is the "birthright citizenship" charge is simply meant to be a distraction that will occupy the left hand's time while he carries out the deportation of criminals with the right hand unabashedly. I am not saying he is the brightest light, but to me, this first 15 days of strategy were all planned, and I do believe have been in the works, I don't think anything he has done has been a knee jerk in anyway. Time will tell if it is effective. Remember, it will take many many years to see if any of this is truly successful or not. I remember back as a kid when the US first threatened tarrifs on China and unfortunately backed off. Many economists will tell you if we were stronger than, we would be in a better position now but again, we are able to measure that now over a 30 year span.

Long story short, I don't get too much caught up in the day to day, it really is not worth it as a lot of this is smoke. 6 months from now, you may start to see some results or you may not, time will tell.

As to the government layoffs. Again, I think it is more of a catalyst to what is to come. Look, I think as Americans, you really have to question the fact of working from home BS. Let me give you an example - the IRS. There are in depth investigations going on right now regarding exposure of taxpayer data. One root cause they believe is employees taking paper returns home to their house to process and not having proper cyber security nor shredding docs. That doesn't happen if they were processed in the office, it just doesn't. It is inexcusable to have an IRS employee working from home. That is only one agency and a big one. I don't necessarily disagree with the buyout. I can guarantee from an accounting standpoint it is a lot more cost effective to dump these workers, rather than allowing full benefits and payroll for another decade while they put in maybe 20 hours per week. I will give you another example of a Depart of Defense employee (who is a personal friend). His mandated work schedule since COVID - 1 day in the office, 4 days at home, every other Friday off. He is paid in full. He has told me that (he is what you would call upper level mgr, not director, but experienced mgmt) he works 9 full hours in the office on that 1 day. The other 4 at home, he puts in maybe 10 hours total. Not b/c he is lazy, but b/c of the system. There is not much he can work on at home. So, tell me how that is taxpayer money well spent.

End of day, I don't know what the right answer is, but I am all for trying something different. If it fails, it fails, we are no worse off IMO.

It is hard to judge Trump. Genius or idiot? Or both? The occupy Gaza nonsense is profound stupidity. Did he say it because that is what he thinks should be done or because that is a negotiating tactic to get other countries more involved? Hard to say. In prior administrations, the US would just have picked up the entire tab to rebuild it and gotten nothing in return except to enrich some corrupt contractors. In my opinion, Gaza is not the problem of the US. We don't have to solve it. Let someone else do that for once.

The government worker issue is an ideological driven initiative. It's popular with the base (until they need a government check). It would not make up a grain of sand on the beach in terms of the federal budget if they fired every single government employee. Something like 70% of the budget is tied to the military, social security (which should have funded itself but all the money was spent), and Medicare/Medicaid. Another 10% is the interest on the enormous debt. That's about 80% of the budget that is deemed untouchable. It's smoke and mirrors to claim to be addressing spending unless those programs are on the table for cuts.
