Things that I really like (7 Viewers)

I see that the second book in Rick Atkinson's Revolutionary War trilogy ("Fate of the Day") is finally coming out. It's been a long wait but the release date is in April.
My favorite author, along with Ian Toll, although he is getting on in yrs. He once told me it takes about 3-4 yrs of research prior to a book release.

Never been a fan of women's basketball and never likely to be but JuJu Watkins put on a show for USC yesterday in beating the hated #1 Bruins. Not a lot of joy in Troy since the NCAA brought down the hammer to end the Pete Carroll era with bogus penalties. So, I'll take it.

Good to see the US spanking Canada at the 4 Nations Face Off. I'm not even sure what this is, but I never tire of seeing US teams dominate hockey. A Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup in decades.

"T-34" on Amazon Prime. A Russian-made war film with a lot of action. The double translation when the Germans are speaking is annoying but the tanks and battle scenes are great. There are a surprising number of Russian war movies if you search around for them. Often better than most Hollywood nonsense.

The pathetic part about that is people are trying to make it political over Trumps moronic comments about making Canada our 51st state; sorry..............fans in Montreal have been booing the US national anthem for decades.

Here's how Boston handles such things;

I think the 4 Nation finals are in Boston. You should go and give them the "double eagle" salute. Canada has ripped us off for decades.

I am right there with you, UT beat LSU last night in WCBB, it was a big win for an up and coming program.

"White Tiger" on Prime. This is a good Russian-made war film but not the traditional type. A mysterious white Tiger is wreaking havoc behind Russian lines. A Moby Dick-like obsession takes hold of the Russians to find it. A sort of supernatural vibe but then the movie takes a strange twist toward the end. It becomes like watching an entirely new movie. It's well done but the ambiguities may not be for the Saving Private Ryan types. The Russians must have a ton of surplus WWII tanks and vehicles for these movies. They look great on film.

"We beat the dream team", the story of 8 college all stars who scrimmaged and beat the Dream Team by 8 points, something I never knew.

Fun to relive that team and the personalities on it, some great lines too, naturally Larry Bird has the best line in the whole show, "Larry Legend"..........

Well worth a watch if you're sports fan/basketball fan.

I guess the Canada-US are set to meet again on Thursday night. Should be fun.

My girlfriend is working on tickets through her company; I saw online that tickets are going for 800.00 for the nosebleed section and 1300.00 closer to the ice..................seems a bit steep, but whatever.

Some talking head at ESPN is lecturing fans not to boo the Canadian national anthem. LOL. U-S-A. U-S-A. It almost makes me want to watch "Canadian Bacon" again. Almost.

I'd be shocked if they boo tonight, kill them with kindness, booing serves zero purpose, be better than that.

Enjoying a surprisingly strong season 3 of "From." Things went off the rails a bit in season 2 but this season moves the plot with lots of action. Making the most of a simple premise. Moving on to "Yellowjackets" next.

50 and 60 degree temps coming this week. The first sign of Spring after a long cold spell that ran my utility bill up to around $800. I'll keep an open mind but so far, so bad on those "day one" campaign promises to lower prices "drill baby drill." At this point, I would settle for progress on just about anything. Even the stock market is tanking. How are those mass deportations going? No one knows because they stopped reporting numbers and just fired the guy they appointed acting ICE director. So my spidey senses tell me not so good even if Kristi Noem looked pretty good in her tactical assault costume.
