April 4th 1964 – The Beatles occupy the top five positions on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart
- "Can't Buy Me Love". This single (with "You Can't Do That" on B-side) was released in the United States on March 16, 1964. This single stayed at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks.
- "Twist and Shout". The Beatles covered this song (from the original version by the Top Notes) and was released in the United States on March 2, 1964 as a single; it has "There's a Place" on its B-side. Apart from reaching Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 4, 1964, this single likewise has the distinction of being the "only million-selling Beatles single that was a cover record."
- "She Loves You". Prior to this position, this single held the Number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for the two weeks preceding the week of April 4, 1964. It was, in fact, on the U.S. singles charts for fifteen consecutive weeks, beginning on January 25, 1964. This single was released in the United States on September 16, 1963, with "I'll Get You" on its B-side.
- "I Want to Hold You Hand". With "I Saw Her Standing There" on its B-side, this single by The Beatles was released in the United States on January 13, 1964. Its best distinction is that it was the group's first Number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching that spot on February 1, 1964 and staying there for the next seven weeks.
- "Please Please Me". This is the first single released by The Beatles in the United States (February 7, 1963). It had "Ask Me Why" on its B-side. However, when the single was re-issued in the U.S. on January 3, 1964, the record label opted to place "From Me To You" on the B-side. This second release became a big hit in the U.S., with the single reaching Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending March 14, 1964.
