Three suggestions for new RAF series (2 Viewers)

a rear firing MG. I am truly mystified :)

You mean that the new MG is armed???
Wow, not even 007 had that gimmick (lol):D

Simon,

The Stuka and the Dornier might be characterized as "pig ugly", but the Heinkel HE111 was a graceful and beautiful design.

Oh, and by the way, I have a K&C Heinkel (1 of 2) made and a K&C Stuka, but I would never display them bombing an RAF airfield - more likely getting shot to bits by Spits and Hurries . . . ;)

The Stukas sure did suffer when they had no escort. For bombing fleeing civilians (that the Germans did so well)they were brilliant, but up against the forthcoming Hurricane, dead meat!;)

The crew of those HE111's must have had a torrid time too, having made their bombing run and with the escort gone it must have been a long journey knowing up there somewhere was a 'big wing' just waiting. It was so good that the word 'Spitfire' yelled through their headphones made them long for the fatherland all of a sudden:D;)

These are such iconic German planes that it would be great to have them in the collection one day, however i'm guessing a 1/30 111 would be huge!

Its big, but not nearly as big is the Horsa or B17.

Indeed Louis!.

I really hope we get some of your suggestions for this range over the coming years. The Airfield Gates,MP's,AA guns would give this range so much life and depth. Its that mix of classic Aircraft and all the many personnel on the ground that is very appealing.I think Andy has hit on a real winner with this range and i think its going to be a big hit with collectors.

Rob

Ok guys,there is geat excitement about the new RAF range.I don't want to bombard K&C with suggestions, so just for fun pick the three things you'd like to see added to this range.Heres mine;

RAF painted Ambulance
Bolton Paul Defiant
Anti Aircraft position.

Rob

Rob my old china it is not often I disagree with you, but we need a few Spitfires first.
Please don't make us beg like we have all been begging for a Desert Rats Sherman.

Fire crew in fire proof suites waiting for the return of a damaged bomber.

Has anyone seen the great colour photographs of Robert Capa (more famous for his black & white work) that were lost in the archives at Magnum for 60yrs. He took some great shots of RAF ground crews .
Do you have a link for that.
I see they now think his shot Spanish Civil War soldier may have been posed.
Would like to see his RAF pictures.

Hey mate,i should have said that mine were choices for further down the line, after of course the release of the much loved Spit.:)

1. Ambulance racing to the aid of a stricken Hurricane/Spitfire/BP Defiant/Blenheim (delete as appropriate)
2. RAF Ops room table with WRAFs plotting a raid
3. RF Ground Crew including armourers, refullers and mechanics engaged in a 'quick' turnaround.

I like your ops table with WRAFs idea that would be a nice & unusual set i think

Excellent suggestions, really good. The Table idea would be so good,we could even have a figure of Churchill studying it.

Rob

1. Spitfire
2. Spitfire
3. Spitfire

Nothing symbolizes the Battle of Britain like this iconic plane. This might be a boring request but I think it is essential to have it in one's collection. After the Spit release everything else mentioned on this pool would be fine. I especially like the idea of a firetruck.

Cheers
CFM :)

Good idea Rob maybe it could be a limited edition set? A bit like the Hitler bomb plot set they just did only with an english flavour instead  :D

You don't seriously worry that a Spitfire won't be released? :D I would be willing to bet you get your wish with the next RAF release. ;) As you note, it is essential to any Battle of Britain discussion. It is the quintessential RAF plane, and, in the wood warbirds (both past and present) it is the most produced K&C aircraft. Don't worry, my friend, Andy will not dissapoint.

Fuel truck with refuelers
Firetruck
Spitfire

I know all of these were named by others, but these would add to what could be a great diorama when combined with the Hurricane and figures already being released.

There speaks a man who sounds like he is in the know, take heart brothers,i hear that roar of a Merlin engine:cool::D

Thanks Louis

To me to convey the spirit of the conflict and those dark days when Britain and the Commonwealth stood alone, the range could expand to take in a number of elements that would be a fitting tribute and discussion point:

London Firefighters in the Blitz

The work of the Royal Observer Corps

Air Raid Wardens (ARP - Hodges!)

The brave Women of the Auxillary Transport Fleet, who risked life and limb ferrying Hurricanes & Spitfires to front line airfields

Sir Archibald McIndoe and his Guinea Pigs

The stirling contribution of the WRAF

A German invasion barge manned and ready to take part in Operation Sealion

A collection of aircrew from all nations who served gallently in the defence of the United Kingdom such as members of Eagle Squadron, The Poles, Czechs and others from Soth Africa, Rhodesia, Australia and New Zealand.

Air and ground crews diving for shelter during another raid on an RAF airfield

Ok, a bit more than three suggestions but such an expansive range can tell its own story.
