Tiger I late version (1 Viewer)

Simon,

We can set it open or close, it's the collector's choice. But they can't move afterwards.

Ana

Dear Ana, can we get the haches separate, so that we can decide for ourselves depending on preference? I am sure that most of us can glue them in place...Michael

How much are these Tigers going to run $$$$??????????? I am guessing they will be more than the Jadgpanthers and the Panthers!! I want a Winter Version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suspect these will be the WARBIRDS of the AFV world in cost terms. Hope I'm wrong - cos they are certainly gorgeous works of art. But if I'm correct, then they shall be way out of my financial reach.
Cheers

I don't think they'll be that much but I suspect they will be expensive, probably a la St. Petersburg.

I hope you are right Brad, I would like to have at least one of these Tigers! I hope HB tries to continue to cater to all collectors and not just become an "exclusive collector" supplier so to speak. I understand these tanks may be more than the Panthers and so forth but HEY I only want one so I will have to bite the bullet, I WANT A WINTER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stuart,

I agree with you. I would love to have one of those Winter Tigers. It looks fantastic.

Not me, if I get one, it will be one of those wonderful Normandy versions with the tri-color camouflage and white outlined red numbers. That color scheme really shows off the details.

Greetings Steel wheels,

Using the winter tiger for the Ardennes offensive is perfect.

In fact, Tiger 211 was lost on 22nd Dec 44 at La Gleize, Belgium, due to multiple hits from the overwhelming number of Shermans of the US 3rd Armoured Division.

Tiger 211's commander SS-Untersturmführer Hantusch was wounded in the head during the engagement.

The photo is of a King tiger

Can't wait to get my order in!.I think a summer version for me.

Rob

Greetings UK Subs,

You are absolutely spot on, i had made a big mistake (it was 3am in SIngapore, so i was very sleepy :( ).

My apologies.

Tiger 211 belongs to schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 which never took part in Battle of the bulge.

However, schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 fought in 5 major battles Kursk, Cherkassy, Normandy, Falaise, Hungary.

schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 unit history -

1)Sent to Russia in January 1943. Fought in southern Russia.

2)Received new Tigers in spring 1943, and fought in Battle of Kursk and (together with Panzer Regiment Bäke) near Cherkassy Pocket.

3)Withdrawn in April 1944 and refitted. Sent to Normandy with Tiger Is and Tiger IIs.

4)Destroyed in Normandy and the German retreat (Falaise Gap).

5)Oct 44 - Equipped with Tiger IIs and sent to Hungary to relief the Hungarian garrison.

6)May 45 - Retreated to Bohemia and surrendered.

Anyway, thats the best i can provide out of my limited knowledge, so pls excuse me if there are some inaccuracies.

I will ask Anna, if I can have an SS Wiking White Tiger for the Cherkassy pocket diorama (Tiger 211 belongs to Wermacht).

But if not, i'll grab tiger 211 rather than the normandy ones, as i believed that normandy is synonymous with the Panther tank, where they excel, just like King tiger is synonymous with Battle of the Bulge.

So Anna (hint..,hint...) Pls redo the normandy Panther, and make a Battle of the Bulge King Tiger..

I am already looking at my resources for a specific Tiger I to have made and I am thinking I found the one I would like to have done. However, it still is a matter of pricing and affordability.

I only hope that with the last releases being at $195 that the new pricing will not be cost prohibitive. I am willing to spend money on this hobby, but I do have a self imposed limit on each item. I am not sure what that limit is. I guess it depends on what it is that I am looking for.

But, whatever I decide, the new HB Tigers appear to be well done and highly detailed. I do like the idea of getting something that is customized and detailed with a great level of accuarcy. We shall see once Anna announces the pricing method and when some collectors report back on their impressions of price, detailing, accuracy, time to get from Argentina, and other issues that they wish to share with us.

Suddenly last year’s Figarti Tiger I tanks 1/32 highly detailed (interior/ exterior) look reasonably priced considering their value.

Hopefully Honour Bound didn't open a can of worms with this customization approach. :)

Good point Alex, There are still plenty of HB tanks available on the market at the initial prices, you can even pick them up on ebay for less than the retail price, I have done it twice. Like I posted earlier I hope HB keeps all collectors in mind and doesnt just cater to the exclusive collector, it could put them out of business. KC is catching up with HB with their armor but lets face it HB's latest Tiger IMO is untouchable at this stage!!!

Guys,

Honour Bound Gold Edition will allow collectors customize tanks as their preferences. Our first tank is the Tiger I late version.

The first choice will be the colour. There will be 4 options: winter, double-colour, triple-colour and plain. Each colour option will have between 2 and 6 different pattern schemes, all viable. You'll be able to choose between the patterns that have a real photo or report source, or the 'might have been' ones.

After that, you'll have regiment choices. We have 5 different ones for now, but we will be getting all with time. After the regiment you'll decide the numbers you want on your tank, among several options. If you want any other special marking just let us know, and we'll make it for you.

Then, the skirts decision. From all eight to none. Which ones, which side. If bent or not. After those, the hatches, how many opened or close. And any other detail that you might specially want among those possibilities.

Up to here you've chosen the basics. This tank will cost $350 plus shipping. You'll get in in a new special box, detachable, on a wooden base, signed and marked exclusively with your name and date of manufacture. Each tank will be unique. The amount of possible combinations will make each tank different from the other.

After your basic choices you can go with the add-ons. Crew, how many, which ones among the options, whic uniforms. Battle damage: none, mild or severe. Mud, dust, rust. Weathered or straight from the factory. Accessories that you want attached to your tank. Scenery: if you want ruins, gates, walls, streets, trees, road and signs. You tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you what we can do. And if you can think of more options well, you are welcome.

I don't have the prices of the add-ons yet, but I'll have them soon. I'll let you know.

Thanks to all,

Ana:)

Ana,

A couple of questions:

1. Are the tanks shown in the photos the basic tanks.

2. The numbers people choose for the tanks, will that come from a pre set group of numbers or will people choose their numbers. If the latter, can you verify that in fact that was a number used.

3. Just to confirm: crew, battle damage and weathing are extra. In other words, if you just want the basic tank, you get none of these and you get a pristine tank as if it just came from the tank factory.

4. How long would you estimate (rough guess) it would take from the time your order (and the order is confirmed) until delivery.

5. As you're ordering your tank, when you choose an option, will you be able to see what it looks like through computer animation, etc., if you get what I'm trying to say. In other words, as we go through the option process, we'll be able to see what it looks like.

6. Can you tell us what might be next after the Tiger. It might give us an idea on how to plan things. I'm keen on a British tank, for example, and if that were coming down the pike, I'd probably pass on a Tiger.

Great job by you and everybody at HB.

Regards,

As beautiful as these might be, I can buy 3 K/C or Figarti pieces for this price...I can no longer purchase from HB any longer...Lets see how many well to do collectors ,you can entice, with this gimmick...Heck, you folks have not even been around long enough to see if there is even an future appreciation for your products....Michael
