Great job Louis, just make sure you don't forget and pick it up one day!

It does look great, like nothing ever happened to it!

Thanks guys! Coming from experienced modelers and collectors like yourselves, I feel really honored by your comments!:)

That's really great work. From the photos it's almost impossible to tell anything is wrong unless you are actually looking for it.
Congratulations it's an amazing looking vehicle even with shipping battle damage!

Holy cow, since I am the guy who saw the damage in person and took photos, I am in disbelief. I think you did an outstanding job Louis. I am almost speechless.

Thanks Easy and Tom!!

Tom, isn't it amazing what a person can do with a little patience? You were there when the Donzino's said it couldn't be repaired. I just couldn't accept that this amazing model was now trash. Believe me, I haven't built a model in 25 years . . . but this was a labor of love.

Now I guess I have to hope that the Donzino's drop one of the Sturmtiger prototypes, and are willing to make me a good deal on the pieces!!:p:D

I have just become the proud new owner of HB Tiger #231. What a great tank. It's really a shame that these are no longer being produced. They are real masterpieces.

well done Louis.

its a credit to your 'amateur' skills that you have managed to restore it this well.

i think you're very humble about your modeling abilities.

if you get some foliage (as in the Sherman with foliage) on top of the tank, the faults will be masked even further.

you can look at Frank's wonderful Das Reich tank as an example.

sincerely,

nasir kasmani

I finally took our old friend Nasir's advice, pulled out my box of Honour Bound Foliage Camouflage and added some foliage to my Tiger:

Brilliant rebuild Louis and how awesome of HB to do a foliage set what a brilliant idea,so sad and a pity HB ceased to exist, imagine what they would be making now.

It looks awesome Louis and if you ever want to sell that beauty foliage and all, then give me a hoy!

Tom

Thanks to our friend Arnold (Noli-Poli), I was able to add another Honour Bound Gold Edition Sherman (H-3, 7th Armored Division, Normandy 1944) as well as a magnificent Tiger Tank (my first Tiger had been restored after damage in transit, this one is mint):

Here is the new Tiger, which is in Eastern Front markings, on a Ken Osen Diorama with other Honour Bound, Figarti and King & Country figures and vehicles:

My first Gold Edition Tiger (the one I obtained from our good friend Nasir), came with two full crews, so I took the second top turret crewman to use on this new Tiger:
