Tigers gallery (2 Viewers)

I was wondering when someone was going to do Wittman's Tiger 205 2./s.SS.Pz.Abt.101 (His command tank for second company before he took over battalion command and 007). Another great batch :)

Ana, are there plans to add a gallery to your website as well still?

Frank

simply superb and beautiful.
Those are my 2 tigers 231 & 233 in black over yellow. It will be the longest wait from Argentina to AZ...but it's worth it.

I'm working on the gallery, Frank. I think I can have it for later today. I'll post here letting everyone know. Thanks.

You should have your Tigers over there tomorrow, N-P :)

Hi noli-poli,

congrats on your beautiful Tigers, its like seeing a new born twins!

My Tiger is the same batch as yours (Wittmann's 205) but i think it'll take a day or 2 more to arrive in Singapore.

May i ask, are you planning a big diorama with your 2 Tigers or something?

i observed that both your Tigers are from same Unit, Platoon, and Company.

I would love to hear from you, regarding this.

Sincerely,

Nasir Kasmani.

Hi Cody,

Good to hear that you will place an order as well.

Welcome to the Tiger club.

Very nice N-P. I own Tiger 312 3./s.H.Pz.Abt.505 (page 1) and I really enjoy it. You will be able to make some really interesting displays with those two bad boys. :)

Hi Nasir,

205 was one of the Tigers I considered. While there continues to be debate around which Tiger was actually used by Wittmann in Villers Bocage (222, 231 ??) we know Witmann commanded 205.

Here is a link to some good info on Wittmann:

Nasir:

Thanks. Yes, I am planning a diorama for this unit. Still doing research on the field of battle they fought.

Sold my KC Winter Tiger, Wittman Tiger, and 2 King Tigers to get these. I won't miss those. HB Tigers are simply great! In fairness to KC, I am keeping the AK DAK Tigers (I have 2). This is well done, but it lacks the machine gun mounted on the turret.

1) fmethorst,

the debate regarding Wittmann's Tiger in Villers Bocage will always be raging on. I went thru Patrick Agte's monumental book - Micheal Wittmann and the Tiger commanders of Leibstandarte, and unless i missed out a page or 2, it seems that Tiger 205 is the one.

Amazingly there were numerous pictures of Villers Bocage after the second attack (Wittmann returning with elements of the Panzer Lehr division and SS leibstandarte recon troops) taken by the ss-leibstandarte propaganda unit.

Lots of destroyed Brit armor, Brit 7th division 'desert rats' taken prisoners, even Wittmann's destroyed Tiger (Can't see the **** numbers):(.

By the time the germans returned a third time (They evacuated when the Brits called in air support) the pictures taken show much of the Village and battle scene were in utter ruin.

Another factor i took Wittmann's Tiger 205 was because i wanted to include his long time gunner, Bobby Wohl.

Bobby Wohl was not part of the Tiger 007 crew.

So overall i'm contented with the my selection of Tiger 205.

2) Noli Poli,

a) To be honest, seeing you have 2 Tigers makes me filled with anticipation and excitement at second guessing your impending diorama.

s.H.Pz.Abt.507 is involved in many desperate battles with impossible odds, so you have a lot of diorama to choose from.

Luckily, Ana has not produced any more SS Tiger commanders, only Wittmann.

If HB produced figures like Von Westernhagen (Battalion Commander, LSSAH 101st Heavy Tank & Rightful owner of tiger 007 during Normandy battles) then i will be very tempted to get another as well!

b)I myself am a huge fan of K&C, but Armor-wise, HB wins hands down.

I myself, have tied myself down for HB german armor, waiting for HB to produce other fantastic items such as King Tiger, Jagdpanther, Hetzer, Panther, Panzer IV, Stug IV and SDK 251.

The best/scary part is that HB is also seems to improving its paint job on its figure as well

It is expensive yes, (especially with the bloody asian currency ) but premium quality comes at a price. besides you know you won't have itchy fingers to sell them away after a few years just like many K&C collectors.

Im sure you wont regret selling 4 very good Tigers for 2 excellent ones.

Sincere rgd,

nasir kasmani.

Nasir,

You're right about eagerly anticipating future releases. I already have a couple of Tiger Ausf.B models in mind as well as a couple of Tiger Ausf.E (early) if and when they arrive. The SDKfz 251 (SPW) offers a lot of possibilities as well particularly if adequate Panzer Grenadiers are made available to go along with it.

There has been a lot of talk regarding price for these items. To be honest I made a decision late last year to collect less and to collect higher end items. The main driver for this was a lack of suitable display space. So basically I have accepted that I will acquire less items throughout the year and I will focus on WWII armor and 16th century connoiseur samurai. Since the number of items purchased is less the overall cost per year is probabaly a wash.

Personally I don't mind the slow release schedules. It gives one time to acquire and appreciate all the pieces.

I am really starting to appreciate the benefit of dealing with a small company like HB. It has been a collaborative effort with a lot of good discussion.

Frank,

I agree with you, working with a small company like HB is a great experience, and Ana has given excellent interaction. Customizing, and researching your own tank has proved beyond doubt, a very much satisfying experience. I for once feel this Tiger is my baby, created to my taste.

With K&C, the deal is "take it or leave it" kind of decision, but to be fair Andy was gracious enough, and collect more than his fair share of feedback from the collectors.

As i too has available limited funds for this hobby per year, i too cherry pick my items.

I have taken a bold decision, to drastically cut my K&C collection, and concentrate on HB instead. This is not an easy decision, as i feel in love with this hobby due to K&C in the first place.

Though i get less items from paying more, i get the premium quality.

No more half feelings for me (For eg, i love the K&C Normandy Panther, but feel awful every time i see the tracks)

The downside of working with a small company however, are -

1) the slow release schedules.

this i understand, and am fully supportive, as long as HB's quality is not compromised. I rather a slow and superb work, then fast but botched up work.

2) unpredictable releases.

this part, i am quite anxious about.

For eg, we won't know if a particular item will be produced?

What if HB won't be making an SDK halftrack whatsoever?

What if HB won't be making tank riders again?

I won't mind waiting for HB's vehicle provided i know they will produce it in the future (for eg, i'm already putting my money aside for the Gold edition Panther), but not to know really frustrates me.

For HB's part, maybe they should start a membership club, so that loyal enthusiasts/fans like us will be assured.

Sincerely,

Nasir kasmani.

Thats a great gallery Ana.

Correct me if im wrong, did someone bought SEVEN Tigers.

WOW! He must have all the variants, except the special rare SA Tiger - The Pink Tiger :D Haha.. Just Kidding..

Congrats to the lucky fellow, what a showcase he'll have..

Sincerely,

Nasir Kasmani

N-P,

Frank is right.

Hold on man, i know that it can test your patience waiting for the next HB releases (can't blame HB, their manpower is not as vast as K&C).

But the early version Tiger will be historically accurate, and more striking, due to its distinctive high commander's cupola.

Sincerely,

Nasir Kasmani.

Awesome gallery, helped a lot! I would definitly love to see some early Tigers to do a Kursk dio. I would probably order more than one early Tiger for the LSSAH in Kursk. Same goes with the Tiger II or late Tiger I, I would definitly order more than one to be able to do various dios, especially Budapest. As far as mid/late production with zimmerit, I'm mainly only interested in Tigers that where in Normandy, but possibly also the Warsaw uprising. I haven't been able to decide yet which tiger to order, but it looks like its going to be a Normandie one!
