With K&C releasing two excellent looking early versions and for other collectors CS and Figarti doing Desert versions, its a good time to be a Tiger fan, and how long before FL follow suit?

Re K&C versions, both look terrific to me and I like the paint job on the latest winter version from the pic I've seen. So how many of you guys will go for both and how many just for one.I'm definitely in for the Grey but now just have to decide on a second white one???

Need Help with DAK TIGER

I am too lazy to do some research, so I will ask the following questions here and hopefully some of the experts can help:

1. Any historical inaccuracies with the previously released limited version of K&C's Desert Tiger?

2. The Figarti tank looks good, but is it historically accurate? However the tank commander figure is still inferior to K&C

3. The CS version looks way off to me. Very ugly paint scheme. So I will ignore it.

Re: Need Help with DAK TIGER

I would say the tunisian tiger is the best DAK version released and, as much as I like the snow tigers and Kursk versions and, the two new versions its probably the best Tiger K&C have done. The only thing I did not like was the petrol can attached to the side where the side skirts should be.

I am not keen on the figarti versions for many reasons which, I have stated in the figarti threads. The new CS version is firstly too large (that scale thing again) and, has a number of historical issues even if it were the right scale.

Its why I have several Tunisian tigers and always looking for more to add to my collection. As a collector and, someone very interested in Tigers I am happier putting my hand in my pocket for K&C versions than other manufacturers at the present time.

If I buy a Tiger it will be the K&C white one . I am not a "Big Tank" man ( small dios I make .. remember !!)Prefer the white Sherman, picture of which was posted in another thread.
guy:)

What with a new winter Tiger to be unveilled by K&C at Chicago perhaps there is a danger of the market becoming somewhat saturated with Tigers?

I need to see better images of these tanks before i could commit
Keith

If K&C put their collector up online this week I'll get it posted on here, but the guys in Chicago might beat me to it Keith.

Rob

Not too much to see before committing for me. This is the same version as the grey except it has an extra front guard and, some brackets attached for the side skirts from the picture which, the grey does not. It does have a good winter faded wash to it so, as Rob mentioned its one of those no brainers.

Two good renditions of earlier war Tigers which, if one looks at the books can be used a lot later in the war than one would expect.

Now, totally jumping the gun before either are released I look forward to the initial prototype tiger and, a late war steel wheeled full zimm in the not to distant future!!!

The Kc Tiger look nice but just wonder in general if all these tiger from all the different company's will sell ^&confuse

I think that there may indeed be a glut of Tigers on the market, but the fact that they keep coming, from all different makers, just speaks to the continuing popularity of the German's Big Cat. Tigers ALWAYS sell. And they just keep on coming. -- Al

HELL YEAH!!!, never such a thing as too many Tiger's speaking as a collector. CS & Figarti are the
first to hit since the production number is low For King and Country and I PRAY PRAY FL will shock
They will sell Hoter than water in the desert {sm4}

Rob, I'll be picking up the new gray Tiger I but will pass on the winter one as I already have the old SL Winter Tiger. I've been waiting on a early gray one to go along with some of my early German troops and this one looks very good and will work perfectly for some dios I have in mind.

Having several companies making Tigers is as good thing as it keeps the quality up and the prices controlled. I still need to see a clearer image of the new winter Tiger. Ive ordered the grey Tiger but I cant say im getting the winter one until I see clearer images. What a time to be Eastern Front collectors! Keith

Hi Rob,

Tiger days are here again my friend! I'm not sure if it's one or both for me. I'm hoping that seeing them in person at the local toy soldier shop will help me sort it all out! Both look absolutely fantastic though. The winter one would fit it better w/ my collection, but the gray one looks....well.. grayt!:tongue:
One thing is for sure, you can't go wrong with either one!:smile2:

No surprises German Armour sells well like the mighty TIGER {eek3},but you must admit the allied stuff was pretty ugly.........................^&grin

^&grin You're a naughty boy! Got to love a Tiger, cos after the Spitfire its one of the most famous weapons of WW2......:wink2:^&grin

Thanks for posting guys, you gotta love this hobby haven't you!{bravo}}

Neil..

They are Tigers and, the hobby is quite literally obsessed with them. Even when they are done wrong!! watch them all sell well. If in doubt release a tiger its that simple. Not just in this hobby but, the model world also. my mate runs a large model store up here and, over a year from all the plastic manufacturers thats always the big seller.

I prefer the open run to the limited runs and K&C's compared to the others available but, K&C's will do well. Unless they retire the Kursk which, I can't see with it being russian front I don't think there has ever been a time when three Tigers were in the inventory. Testimony to the popularity of this AFV.
