Hi all, I'm posting this thread under FL because thats where I visit (and enjoy) most of my time on Treefrog, and hope the mods leave it here,as Churahee Chris told me once in a pm sometimes it's better to take a break, it's just has got to the point the overall fun on the forum has not been there, the constant drama that a few may cause on the forum isn't worth it to me, I have to manage 15-20 guys a week and ALL of thier problems plus run my shop, and that is more drama then I need:), anyway, time for a break here, maybe the new rules will make a change, maybe they won't, we'll see, take care, you can shoot me a email at madcowz85@aol.com ...Sammy

Sammy,

I wish you'd reconsider as you're a valuable member here. I know things aren't rosy on this Forum right now but it's the membership that make the Forum. Things will sort themselves out in time as they normally do.

C'mon we need your Ravens and Orioles input ^&grin

Anyway, take care, if you decide to take a break.

Brad

I wiill second Brad's opinion. It is a shame that a good 99% of the folks get bummed from the antics of a few. If you, and all the fun lovers leave, then we are left with only the nay-sayers and then that will push more folks away. Mabe just post some dios or fun pics.

But yep, if you take a break, make it a short one. -- Larry

Sammy my friend-

Oh No!! Be it squadmates or young staffers or seniors on my audits, first thing I tell them is never listen to a word I say!! Im like the worst person ever to take advice from LOL!!

Your a really cool dude and I think, especially if you are managing that many muchachos that you will be happier just chilling for a few and sitting back and enjoying your hobby. I find it makes it all the more enjoyable.

Besides all of that, terribly sorry I couldnt reach you in time for Arizona. Just got back late Saturday night. I absolutely love Flagstaff and belive I will retire there. Anyway, I am looking to return next summer- perhaps as early as April and swear I will hook up with you then. This time it was just a little too late and I had to scramble just organizing my squad of five to get out there in one piece. Anyway, we hiked in the Canyon on Thursday, thought I was gonna have to call a medevac to yank my wife outta Blue Angel point LOL!!! We also almost got trampled by a mule train!! LOL. Beyond that we did Camp Verde, Walnut Canyon, Montezumas Castle and some Outta Africa Nature Zoo park....oh and Winslow and Sedona. Just fliipin love Az buddy!!! Oh, and I never knew of the San Francisco peaks!!! Just beautiful country out there.

Take care and stay in touch. Ill be happy to send you Baltimore related stuff anyday.

Your buddy
CC

Well Sammy:

I guess you're one of the Forum Moderators. If so, thanks for your devotion because you're a better person than me. I couldn't do that. I don't have the tenacity nor the temperament. Again thanks.

Try being a periodic contributor and post from time to time. You might enjoy it more. I check in frequently but post rarely but still enjoy. I stay way clear of 90%+ of emotional posts that might press my button. Try it sometime; you'll find it gets easier eventually and you don't even notice them anymore.

Carlos

Sammy take a long break mate . I have done this at times and found it rewarding. But come back when you are ready as I am interested in your First Legion diorama's.

Simmo.

Enjoy your break Sammy and then come back mate. As Brad said, these things blow over after a while, the forum often has a period of deletions etc and then settles down again.

All the best

Rob

Sammy, We all need a break from time to time........our responsibilities in the real world take first priority....I look forward to your return to talk more First Legion Stalingrad and enjoy your Stalingrad Dioramas.....Best Frank

Sammy, please enjoy your break but keep in touch. Also. I will miss my fellow O's fan, so drop a line now and then.:smile2: -- Al

I totally understand Sammy. I've been spending less time on the forums as well and I agree that if it isn't a relaxing positive experience there isn't much point. I also find I have less idle time in the summer and I'd rather be outside.

Looking forward to chatting as the Normandy range develops so stay in touch.

Sammy I would like to "echo" Franks post. Like Frank, I also have less idle time in the summer months because I too enjoy being outdoors and I find that its a great break. By the time the Chicago OTSN show rolls around I am ready to get back into my TS hobby in earnest. All the best and I look forward to seeing your posts and photos when you get back . . . . .

Hi sammy ,
If you read this I'm sorry to hear you are taking a break , your enthusiasm for the Hobby is contagious and your WWII collection is a beauty to behold ..... I'm sure its out of total frustration . I have been there a few times myself  Its sad that the decent volks on here are badgered by a few who seem to get away with annoying most just about continously across the board . Oh well don't let em bring ya down because in the end if they win , we all lose . Hope to see ya back soon if not drop me a line you know how to reach me , stay cool .. Regards Gebhard

(Posted this earlier on another thread.)

As a silent member, who rarely posts but who follows many of the threads with great interest, I believe that first and foremost, we should all consider ourselves to be friends and colleagues who have a shared interest and enthusiasm for history and collecting and who will readily commit to exchanging views and ideas in an open but always courteous manner.

I admire those who hold strong views and express them well but that old-fashioned idea of courtesy and respect for one another is the only way to ensure a civilized and productive forum for all of us. I think we also owe this to those like Peter and Shannon who have provided us with such a magnificent resource. I hope that members will continue to join rather than leave, and that by our actions we will make the forum a place where all can feel welcome (even those like myself who only read the work of others!).

As another writer has put it earlier, this is a place where I and many others have found great support, advice and enjoyment. Let's keep it that way.

Best regards to all.
Colman

Sammy,

Just return by September and football season, I will have no worthy adversaries until then......................by the way....................beware the Black and Gold, looking for some purple payback this year!

Seriously, I used to get riled up and just decided rather quickly it is not worth it. I have and always will continute to buy and enjoy what I like. As I collect nearly all manufacturers, none of them are perfect, but they all make something I find likable and well done, for me, that works! You can't buy it all anyhow!!!!!!!! (you can only try).

As for the boisterous yahoos, just ignore them, they are not worth it. When life degenerates to a grade school level, just remember to use the wisdom you have gained from your years on earth and the simple statement that applies universally......................who cares and why should it bother me what someone else thinks??.....................

Talk soon,
TD

I look forward to your return Sammy. Keep in touch via email. I'll try sending those pics to you when I get a chance I don't know why they didn't go through:confused:

Hi all,

well after a week of self imposed ban on the forum I recieved some very nice emails, so thanks to those fellows as well as the guys that posted here, sometimes it's just a good thing to get away when the fire gets to hot in the kitchen as we use to say growing up, (and time was needed to cool down to say the least) but I look forward to getting back to talking collecting/soldiers/dios etc...and keeping things on my end in a positive light like it should be, I think I will take the advice from a few members that reminded me there will always be folks in this big world that like to have a go/argument/etc..it's how I respond or not respond to that non-sense that shows my self being, so...glad to be back and thanks again for the nice comments/emails...now Matt, how bout those new Paras for pre-order?:)...Sammy

Well Tom, it is about that time for some football!!!!!! (don't forget to post in thread in lounge) only thing that sucks is my Ravens don't play your evil Steelers until late, but once again I'm sure it will be a battle for the division once again.

As far as the forum you could not have said it any better...Sammy
