Hi Guys,

Many thanks to those who read my last post/ thread…Mitch had his say… I’ve had mine… So let’s get back to the real fun..TOY SOLDIERS!

Talking of which…I’ve just finished “DISPATCHES” and I think it’s a good ‘un. I hope some of you will like it.

In the meantime here’s a “sneak peek” at a brand-new Wellington Bomber (one of six) heading to HK soon.

All the best and happy collecting!
Andy C.

Now that's nice, R.A.F bombers are always good to see being put out by makers, excellent Andy, now how about a mozzie?

Well led and well said ---well-ington. Don't forget Naps though; Wellington was there too...and how big is the box for this not-so-WWI-little-thing??{eek3}

Wasn't it also designed by Barns Wallis? (no doubt got the spelling wrong)

Yes it used his Geodetic design in its wings and fuselage , it was very strong and could take a lot of damage and still remain usable. Clever chap was Barnes.

May be wrong here but I think she's from 99 Squadron, the first to be equipped with Wellingtons who were based in Suffolk and hit targets in Norway and Germany before being posted to India in 42.

Was that a typo or did you mistake the Wellington for a WWI aircraft. No worries, many of the British designed WWII aircraft and AFVs were mistakenly associated with an earlier war. {eek3}{sm4}

Gidday Rob

Im sure the Wellington was also used to hunt U-Boats and i think they were painted in white??? Can't be sure on that one but it would also look awesome in a white paint scheme, similar to the Short Sunderland Flying Boats.

Hi Tom,

Yes they were indeed used by Coastal Command in anti submarine and shipping patrols and were indeed painted White.

AH, mate I really would like an Aussie Mozzie with the roundrels without the red centre, yes it would be bread & water and mouldy bread at that.
Wayne.
