Great wee set up Wayne, I see you're back in the sand pit.

Love the figures and especially the 'Kiwi' dingo. ^&grin

Thanks Toddy. Though these days I'm known as Steve :wink2::tongue:

The war is over for these guys, no more flies and heat. Robin.

Now, there's a project for anyone interested, to find out where, before the US joined the war as to where the surrendered AK troops went. I know some would of come to UK along with surrendered Italians, of which there many more.

I am interested, good idea!{sm3} One of my father's uncles was taken prisoner by the british at El Alamein and sent to prison in South Africa, then in India. He was very well treated.
Another of his uncles was taken prisoner in Africa by the french and was very badly treated....After the war, as a french entered his shop in Italy, he left because becoming agressive at him)

Two different experience on separate occasions. Perhaps it was discipline or perhaps it was the cultural difference and perhaps not having lost friends at that stage or perhaps the French had just had personal experience. Remember Italy did invade and occupy parts of France in 1940 - 1943 which isn't going to make things easier. Whatever the reasons they obviously are still alive in memory from stories told down the generations and of course it is the same here and I expect with all those who had relatives alive at time of the second World War. I know I heard some as a child !
