Trophy ACW (1 Viewer)

Martyn,

I hope you don't mind me asking, but are all these new additions new in the box or are they second hand so to speak? If the latter then they are in darn fine condition.

Jeff

Hi Jeff

All mint in the box

These two were found at the London Show in December,

at the time I didn't know that I would find a MIB set a few weeks later:D

Martyn,
I see you have been busy trying to corner the market on Trophy's ACW :smile2: Congrats on finding so many new toys! Here are a few that I recently acquired. A Union Artillery Set and another Union set but in matte.

Thank you Lawrence:salute::

You have a couple of very nice sets there, I've never seen the 54th MASSACHUSETTS REGIMENT in matte finish before {bravo}}

Cheers

Wow Larry!{eek3} You found a Trophy set Martyn has never seen before! I am just glad you don't collect Heco, or I would be in trouble . . . ^&grin

I believe these matte sets were made for Larry Simons of March Through Times. He had several on eBay a couple of years ago and he told me at Chicago that he had asked Len to make several in matte.

Hi Brad

Thank you for that info:salute::

That could be where these sets originated, especially as they have an MT set number

HANCOCK SETMT1
LEE SET MT2
FALLEN COMRADES - IRISH BRIGADE MT3

Martyn,

I'm glad to contribute something that you don't know about Trophy. That's probably my only contribution ^&grin

I remember the Hancock and Lee sets as two of the sets Larry was selling on eBay. Can't remember the others but I think there were around seven or eight total.

Cheers,

Brad

Excellent Brad, many thanks :salute::

Thanks Brad for the info on the matte set. Anybody know why some of the figures in the matte set of the 54th had been numbered "1" on their base and others marked "2" and the flagbearer and officer had no numerical mark? Thanks. Lawrence

Hi Lawrence

I've just checked my GLOSSY set:tongue: and the Flag Bearer and Officer have no number on their bases but the other figures are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4, on checking they all have slightly different poses. I am sure I have other ACW sets with similar distinguishing numbers on the bases, I shall have a look tomorrow

Cheers

Martyn:)

Glad to help Larry.

Assuming that other sets have similar numbering, I guess the question is what is the significance.

Maybe Len will look in and help provide an answer.

Brad

Forgot that I was dealing with a couple of land sharks. So, to clarify, I will keep those wood planes and vehicles as well as the toy soldiers, but will pass on that tin plate stuff :smile2: Have to admit, they make some really stunning pieces, so my lawyer has advised me to never say never. You never know when the bug will hit

Well, when it does I will have plenty of duplicates to trade with you.:wink2:

Hi Lawrence

I have discovered several later sets, with Terrain bases, that have A, B, C, D, and E on the bases of the figures. These figures are all slightly different from each other.
