The original set was issued as Dragon Crest set# DC.21, part of the BOXER REBELLION series but were equipped with Martini Henry rifles. This set have the French Model 1842 rifle, correct for the Crimean War.

As a Trophy WWI collector, one of my regrets is that Trophy did not do the French colonial style troops or the early war (1914) French Uniforms like this one (Uniform original, Soldier Doll made in 1914 by Steiff):

Florence Nightingale, OM, RRC, DStJ was a British social reformer and statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale came to prominence while serving as a manager and trainer of nurses during the Crimean War, in which she organised care for wounded soldiers.

Born: 12 May 1820, Florence, Italy


Died: 13 August 1910, Mayfair, London
