Trophy Indian Army Firing Sets (1 Viewer)

Very, very difficult not to be amazed by the colourful appearance of the Indian army uniforms and your fine collection. Really like the subject and I am very happy Martyn that you do not mind sharing your treasures. Great joy to follow.
Thank you and kind regards

Whoa Mike, those "want sets" are growing exponentially. I hope Martyn don't have to many more sets up his sleeve.

My last set :wink2:

20th (Punjab) Regiment, Bengal Native Infantry

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks for the photo Martyn, but Go For Broke is right, my want list is growing daily. I am kind of glad that this is the last one otherwise I may have to take out a reverse mortgage on our house to pay for all of this stuff if I can ultimately find them.

Can anyone identify these Indian troops wearing red coats, blue trousers and a brown turban? I bought them 20 years ago and I can't recall what the regiment was.

Hi Jim

I think they are 101st BOMBAY GRENADIERS. The catalogue description reads - "in khaki turban, scarlet tunic and blue trousers"

Cheers

Martyn:)

Boy, that is one impressive diorama Jim! I love the "brush" barrier. What other regiments are in the diorama?

Mike

This is in the nature of a heads up for fellow Trophy collectors. I have finally come around to accepting the fact that I will never be able to display about half of my approximately 10,000 figure collection. So, I have decide to sell at least some of them to include a number of very hard to find early Trophy Raj and Indian Army sets. First up will be the four firing sets in this thread. If you are interested please check them out under the "Collector Classifieds-For Sale/Trade" section on the Forum. Thanks.

The Zariba is moss that I purchased at Michaels Stores in the U.S.

The grey coats are the 66th Berkshires; I think the redcoats are Guards; the Camel Corps is to the left of the 66th, and the Khaki troops are Royal Sussex. There might be some Under Two Flags Seaforth Highlanders as well.

Thank you Jim. Do you have any photos from the other end where the Royal Sussex Regiment is? Do you have attackers somewhere in the future? You certainly have left room for them.

Mike

hey martyn, is this set part of the boxer rebellion series since they have grey bases

Queen's Own Corps of Guides, Punjab Frontier Force

Afraid not, they are from the NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1878-1900 series

Catalogue number NWF5 - THE FIRING LINE

I will be taking 3 mounted sets to the London Show in a couple of weeks

Cheers

Martyn:)

Can you post a photo Martyn of what you plan to take to the Show.
