Excellent Mike and a wonderful additon to your Trophy Empire !!
Super, Martyn! Did you know that Kitchener was adamant about Churchill NOT being deployed to Egypt, since he thought Winston was riding on daddy's coattails and was a complete boob? Well, Winston went anyway being detailing with the Lancers.
Mike
Hi Mike
Churchill had a very interesting early life, I have only just found out that he visited Cuba in 1895 to observe the Spanish fighting Cuban rebels. Have you seen "Young Winston" , some great action scenes with the Malakand Field Force and then in the Sudan at Omdurman. I picked up a few Boer War related Trophy sets including Kaffrarian Rifles - The Pipers, Kaffrarian Rifles Mounted Officers and a Kaffrarian Rifles Segeant standing, firing a pistol
Cheers
Martyn
Pictures please Sir Martyn
Martyn,
Wow! It never ends! Trophy had so many figures and periods I''ve never seen before, including these. Nice treat!
I will have to get that movie! I had just finished Khartoum The Ultimate Imperial Adventure and hopped right into Wilbur Smith's Triumph of the Sun, and one of the Ballantyne's is young Kitchener set in Khartoum before the fall of Gordon! Always a great read for me(no one else I know likes his bookes)
Mike
Quite a few more to come over the next few days and weeks
A favourite Wilbur Smith of mine is The Dark of the Sun, made into a great movie in 1965
Cheers

Hello Martyn,
This is a fantastic find. Your luck is quite unbelievable.
I have been hunting high and low for this particular figure of "Young Winston".
If you ever get tired of him , you know who to PM.
Cheers, Raymond.
I too am looking forward to see you recent finds, I did not realize how many periods Trophy did. Just amazed.
Looking forward to more!
The movie came out the same year as it was written(?)
