I have never seen so many Trophys sets before at one show! One dealer had a complete Boxer Rebellion range, Indian Mutiny range and some others including beautiful and very expensive ACW boat. Brad, Tom, Larry , Hans, myself and couple other collectors tried to put a dent on this collection but failed after spending SOME amount of money^&grin but it was a lot of fun!

Some sets I found
1. Marching in Grey uniform scarce Artist Rifles
2. I am not sure about name of two other marching regiments
3. Postal Office Rifles in blue jackets
4. Boer war machine gun EQ52

One lucky Trophy collector (not me :) got today a very scarce the Boer War train. Only 3 sets made their way to the US and a production run in the UK was very short. It's in exact 1:32 scale and made out of metal!. Rare find indeed. This train was not made by Trophy and figures are not Trophys but it will mesh with Trophy Boer War range perfectly.

WOW, what a find.............................my heart has stopped racing. Thanks AL for the pics. As Al said, this was a lucky find. I am excited and humbled to add to my collection.

BUT JEEZ, what a Trophy overload today. I have never seen that many unique sets at one show. It was wonderful to view. If only I robbed the entire bank yesterday............

I think good news is the Trophy Crew all did pretty good in the end, definitely a unique pieces was found by one and all. And unfortunately, a few were left on the tables..........

Great show,what a rush!

I've never seen anything like it. There were tons of Boxers, Zulus galore, several Mutiny, some Sudan and a Dynamite Gun with TR. If you were a Zulu or Boxer collector you were in heaven but financial purgatory.

I bought a 19 piece Indian set from Boxer Rebellion, three Indian Mutiny, three miscellaneous figures and, oh, yeah, the Dynamite Gun ^&cool Way cool

It was actually too much, sensory overload. There was also an Eagle. Never saw one before. Beyond my means but what a model.

I wish we could see something like that at the Chicago show.

I also finally found Indian Mutiny M3 (Elephant set) which has eluded me for a long time. Indian Mutiny sets were swept quickly: I got 2, Brad got 3 and last one OXEN SET still was on the table when I left the show: the price was too steep.
Another good set found (from another seller) was Sudan Black Watch Command set. I will post a picture tomorrow

A great day was had by all by the sound of it {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

app.25 sets found

While the rest of us peons were forced by security to stand outside and wait:mad:, the Trophy addicts were able by using stealth technology{eek3}, to get in way too early and leave a dessert wasteland of empty boxes and the dealer unconcious^&cool on the floor. Mind you, because I was stuck outside, these were just the rumors going around the room.. ^&grin Maybe Nancy Grace would be interested in the story..Michael

Wish I could have been there gentlemen . . . any Trophy WWI I would have been interested in?:wink2:

No WWI otherwise either Larry, Hans, Tom or I would have grabbed it for you.

Only partly true ^&grin but the dealer was given a lot of money to compensate for his losses ^&grin

Very funny. The dealer had a lot of Trophy. However, when I left he still had a lot. I paid him a visit as I was getting ready to leave and it was only then that I discovered the Dynamite Gun that had been there all along. There was enoughTrophy to go around for anyone who wanted any. Mind you, this is not the norm.
